I have heard people point out the existence carnivores in nature as a rebuttal against veganism, but I don't think that was an invitation start getting rid of them. But it does fit in line with the standard redditor view of trying to forcefully change nature if it doesn't fit their world view.

Not touching grass and it's consequences have been a disaster for the human race. For this to work humans would have to take over the role of predators in nature. Either by killing the animals or finding a method of birth control and applying it constantly to every prey species to keep them from overpopulating, destroying the environment, and ultimately dying of starvation and disease. Killing the predators would be an environmental disaster on a scale that hasn't been seen since the last mass extinction.

No, I except parents to discipline their kids so they're not a nuisance for others. It was mentioned several times in the story that the mom did nothing to discipline, and yet. You are acting like the reaction came suddenly.

I would agree on throwing the cold liquid as the first thing would be wrong, but this was a last resort. It is the concept of "Play with fire and get burned".

There's a world of difference between expecting kids to be adults and expecting kids not to be uncontrollable monsters because of shitty parenting.

And yes, parenting is all about "showing force to children so they learn to respect you". You do that when they're young and the stakes are small, so that the fucking state doesn't have to do it later when the stakes are large.

Set a clear and reasonable boundary and actually follow through.

you reminded me of an example where there was actually a case in the past where people were hunting down wild wolves because they were thought to be dangerous to humans, but they hunted them to the brink of extinction. The result was the deer population grew out of control causing other issues. Apparently redditors didn't learn about what an ecosystem is before wanting to fuck it up.

Also I didn't think about this before but there are hundreds of fish in the ocean that eat other fish. How the fuck are they going to sterilize every slightly larger fish that eats smaller ones?

most large predators (wolves, lynx, bears, many birds of prey) were deliberately exterminated in large parts of europe. not because of a threat to humans, but mostly because they attack farm animals, and also because they compete for prey with human hunters.
ecosystem impacts aren't massive from that alone as long as human hunting activity keeps up, but when human hunting is scaled back too then you get massive population increases in prey animals such as deer and wild boar, which can in turn damage and destroy farmers fields and crops as well. over the last decades they've been trying to reintroduce wild wolf populations in many areas for that reason.
