This one is so shitty I actually laughed. The username. "It would take your own government a warrant". "That's one of my business". A nonsense statement designed to get people without critical thinking skills mad (obviously citizens have more protection from their own government than noncitizens). It so perfectly encapsulates Reddit that I wonder if it's a joke at their expense.

I'm not gonna lie, there is one thing I love about Reddit. After every election, I check out r/iwantout which is filled with clueless Americans trying immigrate when they have no marketable skills, no real employment history, a spew of real and imaginary medical/mental issues, and of course, like a half a dozen pitbulls they need to bring with them to Norway.

I'd bet a majority of people making these are actually too young to know what advice animal memes used to be used for.
I've seen a huge uptick of kids born 2004-2013 LOVING "old internet" and crying about how they miss "how things used to be", even though they would be the first ones to piss themself if they actually saw bad words or "unpopular" opinions online that were not removed by Reddit mods for being mean.

They can barely handle being "rage baited" without flying into a huge autism meltdown.

It's not even just liberals to be fair. The number of idiots from the states that think since they did a semester in college overseas or took a vacation, they know what it's like to be an expat working overseas is staggering.

Usually, a place is really tolerant of tourists and college students. They are cash cows. The opposite is true for the expats. We are seen as job stealers and sex tourists.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but many years ago this used to work by editing your comment -> saving -> editing your comment again -> saving. This was because the reddit API only saved one previous revision. This is how those websites that used to be able to "undo" deletions/edits to comments worked, they could pull previous data but only if you didn't change the data twice.

...Which is also why none of them work today unless they happened to cache the comment/post before deletion/edit. This changed some time ago, and I vaguely recall hearing about it.

This was also like years before the concept of LLMs so that wasn't even a thought in reddit's mind.
