Redditors will scoff at the term "Trump derangement syndrome" then put his name on a framed memorial photo for their cat of 20 years.
To be completely honest seeing that actually upset me. A beloved pet passes away and you devote half of the words below her name to complaining about someone you despise, ensuring every time you look at the photo and think about your pet, her spot in your mind is forced to take a back seat to a five minute hate against cheetoh Hitler. It should be something to remember and treasure her life and the bond you shared, not to seethe and virtue signal. Very demoralizing (:_(

I’m tired of people in real-life disagreements running to tattle to the internet. The giddiness of redditors to cancel people and attempt to ruin livelihoods from problems they have zero involvement in is some real hall monitor bullshit. At worst, just gossip about the situation and leave it at that without cow-tipping, because getting personally involved is mega gay.

They will open a go fund me for him in a few days. :story:

Liberals/redditors (same thing honestly) detest any financially successful person and foam at the mouth when they see one. Acting sadistically to people with money makes them feel better about being failures at life. That's why they go on these online personal-vendetta tirades. That's why they whine about "privilege" so much. If you've ever had a liberal friend, they will berate you for any success you or your family has, and try to make you feel guilty for it. All while doing absolutely nothing to make a success out of themselves. Doing the absolute opposite if anything, by pursuing some bullshit liberal arts degree or acting like they're "too disabled to work" because they have mild autism or something. That's also why communism appeals to them. Communism doesn't appeal to anyone normal with a real job.

This post reminds me of their burning hatred of landlords. Yeah the boss is shitty for not respecting a tribute to a dead employee, but let's be honest, this faggot was probably already looking for ANY excuse to get back at his boss. I doubt this retarded faggot was pursuing a degree or anything outside of his part-time job either. Probably spends his free time smoking weed and bitching about capitalism.

Don't forget them lying about everything to make right wingers look bad. Like how capitalism killed millions (which yeah it has) then ignore or hide the fact communism has killed the same amount of people if not more.

No the Irish famine was not caused by capitalism. It was potato blite and the British free trade laws that caused it.

I inadvertently found myself fall down a very funny rabbithole today. I found this old AMA post, which is how I learned about Anthony Curcio:

I’m Anthony Curcio. In 2008, I robbed an armored car in a suburb of Seattle and escaped in an inner tube down a river. I’m joined by Nate Scott, a reporter and editor at For The Win and USA TODAY, who produced the first season of his new true crime podcast ‘The Sneak’ on my story. Ask us anything!

This naturally lead me to research more about Anthony Curcio, where I then found his Wikipedia page. Here's the quick rundown, if you can't be bothered reading it: In 2008, he carefully planned and executed an armored-car robbery outside a Bank of America branch in Monroe, Washington. He posted a fake job advertisement on Craigslist asking workers to show up for a "cleanup job", instructing them to wear identical outfits (yellow safety vests, goggles, masks, and blue shirts). When roughly a dozen applicants arrived dressed exactly as instructed, Curcio blended into the crowd, pepper-sprayed a security guard delivering cash, grabbed two bags containing more than $400,000, and ran toward a nearby creek. He then escaped by floating upstream in an inner tube attached to a cable system he had prepared in advance. This escapade earned him the nickname "the Craigslist robber".

He initially got away with the crime (during which time he went on a trip to Las Vegas and cheated on his wife - lovely chap) before eventually being caught. While in prison, he wrote several books aimed at kids who have incarcerated parents. After he was released, he rebranded himself as someone who had got his life back on track, and gave speeches to high school kids to avoid making the same mistakes that led to his life of crime.

A mildly interesting and unusual story, overall. The kind of thing that would be perfect for a "meal time" Youtube video.

And indeed, that's what happened. A Youtuber named Qxir made a ten minute long animated video about his life:

At one point, the video contained a brief throwaway joke:
“When the economy crashed in 2008, Curcio’s legitimate income was severely hit, and, not having the wisdom to sell Pokemon cards, which is where the real money is, his financial situation was looking very grim."
The joke was clearly meant as a light aside. However, the timeline that followed gives it an odd twist.

In 2024, Curcio was arrested - again - this time for running a nationwide fraud scheme involving... Pokemon cards. Prosecutors said he and an associate sold cards with forged grading labels, inflating their value and attempting to defraud buyers of more than $2 million.

According to court filings, the scheme ran from roughly 2022 to 2024. The video was published in 2021.

Given the very specific nature of the crime he was later charged with, and the fact that it occurred only a year after a widely circulated video about him jokingly suggested he do exactly that, it becomes difficult not to speculate. The coincidence is so precise that one could reasonably suspect Curcio may have watched Qxir's video about his own robbery and taken the joke somewhat more literally than intended.

If so, it would make the story even stranger: a criminal becoming the subject of a YouTube video, watching that video... and then apparently using one of its jokes as inspiration for his next criminal venture.

Maybe this isn't the best thread for this bizarre story, but it was so bizarre and amusing that I felt I had to share it somewhere.

Something that annoys me of Reddit is that they want to know every single subreddit follows the narrative. If you're on Reddit then you must see "Trump bad", "ICE=gestapo", "free palestine" and "estrogen". Because as Pizzagate said "THERE IS LITERALLY A WAR GOING ON"

So you can't even use a meme template without finding "stonetoss nazi!!!!" becuase you know, every redditor must care about nazis killing troons or something

Why do redditors act like s whole other humanoid species?

Even if you avoid looking into subculture/political/fetish subs which naturally attract degens, those in supposedly "subreddits for normal people" (relationship advice, financial help, grief support, childcare, art, etc.) are still the same exact brand of insane.

Not a single person I know in real life talks or acts the way redditors do.

The karma system. Yes I am being serious.

The karma system forces a Borg like level of assimilation.
