This is why I hate reddit. They are so entrenched in the zeitgeist of "dont yuck someones yum" that they ironically are less accepting than 4chan. If this sperg posted on /v/ it would hit bumplimit, every post would be asking for more/ explanations, and hed be a legend for years to come.

I went to the Star Trek sub today and they were all pointing guns (phasers) at each other acting like any one of them could be hating on the new Trek series because Conservative shills are telling them to hate it and actually it's good and they JUST HATE GAY PEOPLE AAAAAHHHHHH

I've literally never seen that. People don't like it because the show is bad

Risking opsec a bit here, but back when I was still studying filmmaking the professors in charge of media theory and story analysis and etc were literally telling us that, while considered, the original intent indeed IS irrelevant when considering media literacy, something about the work becoming something more than just the creator and how the viewer's perception transforms the experience and blah blah blah (and yes it was at this point I gave up filmmaking entirely, all that I gained throughout the entirety of that experience were more reasons to fucking hate Hollywood and the film industry). Media literacy is now not just a Reddit-tier argument but it's spread to official academia too and at a rapid pace which is a terrifying prospect.

Just discovered there’s a subreddit for Skyrim mods.

I’m playing a righteous heavy armor paladin nord that enjoys adventuring with my hot nord wife Lydia whilst cleansing Skyrim of filthy elves and wicked undead. Figure I’d go on the sub to find some immersion mod ideas.

Goddamn I hate Reddit so so much. There is literally no where you can check in on, no matter how obscure, that isn’t infested with armchair political warriors and overly sensitive retards.
 
My theory of the ironic circlejerk reddit subs will all slowly devolve into being taken over by insane leftists always holds true. I do not know why this always happens but it seemingly does.

Why does this keep happening?

They don't really devolve, they're always like that. It's just that over time all the sane people realize the frequent posters and mods aren't being ironic.
Most of these circlejerk subreddits get created when users on the main sub get triggered by some bullshit (usually a political take slightly right of Mao) and run to create a safe space to strawman about the "nazis" and "incels" who have taken over the main sub.
These same subs undergo this cycle themselves whenever the inevitable purity spiral hits. There's a chain of something like four different splinter vegan circlejerk subs and two or three movie ones, for example.
