even if nobody ever finds out it's a catastrophe, it completely shatters the kids outlook on life.
you're used to looking up to your parents, you see them as above you, they're closer to you than anyone else in the world, and they have more authority control and power over you than anyone else.
when you suddenly find out that they engage in this kind of humiliating shit and degrade each other for shits and giggles it turns your life upside down. suddenly you feel like a prisoner to people who you can't respect, who you're disgusted by, and who have been lying to you for your entire life.
i can see how something like this would fuck you up for life even without anybody else teasing you for it.

There's an overdose epidemic right now, ambulances are hours away due to overdemand and the conversation isn't about getting drugs off the streets but about convincing the everyman to carry naloxone and battling the stigma

I married a good, progressive man, and yet…

I’m miserable. We have a 1 and 3 year old, I’m a SAHM right now, because I wanted to be. He loves our kids, he works from home, he does our oldest’s bedtime every night, he is faithful to me. But he’s fucking incompetent and I’m so so tired of it. He’s incapable of keeping the house. While managing our babies, I clean our whole house, do our dishes, cook food for the kids, shop with them, do laundry, organize everything, etc. he’s responsible for the trash, and this morning he sprinted out of the house to get he trash out as the truck was coming down the street. He doesn’t know how our vacuum works. I installed our dishwasher myself. I had a flat tire and it sat for months until my dad came over when we were gone and changed it. We got a grill and I asked my husband to have it hooked up before our youngest’s baby shower…. I finally hired someone to do it the week of her first birthday. He can’t manage his time, he can’t put away his clothes or tidy up anything ever, and he doesn’t know this about himself at all. He thinks he contributes maybe 40% and I do maybe 60%. In my opinion I’m doing 90% of the domestic labor. I fantasize about how much time I’d have to myself if we were divorced. I fantasize about getting an evening job so he would have to watch the kids alone in the evening and I could be my own person. I’m tired of my standards being “too high.” I don’t want another partner, I just want to be alone. But I could never do that to my kids. I’m just looking for anyone that this resonates with.

I'm honestly surprised the mom isn't just as bad, she could very well be embellishing though. I give it 5 years at most until he troons out.

Oh nooo, perish the thought your home is your job like millions of women before you while your husband brings in all the money. Oh nooo, the person I lived with before having kids and knew his lifestyle habits hasn't changed them inexplicably but I still chose to have kids with them. Oh nooo, my inability to lie in the bed I made or comunicate with my spouse to fix these issues doesn't mean I want a new husband fellow redditors, I just wanted to bitch and moan without self-reflecting.
 
What a cunt. Sure the vacuum thing and tire change is understandable, but who the fuck is having to install a dishwasher themselves, and how is attaching a propane tank to a grill such a big chore that she's grumbling over it?

If any grown adult, man or woman, does not know how to change the tire on a car they should be beaten with sticks. Hooking up a dishwasher also isn't difficult although that one I will at least say is understandable.

But really the problem here is that she married a pussy (which is her fault) who probably never had a male role model in his life. The fact he works from home makes it even worse.

I've never had to buy or replace a dishwasher so this is an assumption on my part, but wouldn't it get delivered and installed by the place you ordered it from, and then have them take away the old one?

Depends on where you order it from and which manufacturer you purchase. But generally no unless you buy it directly from a contractor/appliance guy. If you go to MenardsMart or Homeless Deathspot and buy one you're typically on the hook for install or hiring someone to do the install, most plumbers will do it cheap.

Literally all you do is kill the power and water to the old unit, disconnect the lines and unplug it, then move in the new unit. Hook up the hot water line to the hot water hookup and the cold water line to the cold water hookup, they're typically color coded and the hookups are right there in the wall where the dishwasher goes, and then there's a drainline you need to connect. Everything screws together, righty tighty, lefty loosy, be sure to use thread tape which is also not hard to do. And then you plug in the power outlet, if you've done everything correctly it's like a ten minute job. Twenty tops. Depending on the state of the hookups you might not even need tools to loosen and tighten everything.

The other really really nice thing about our modern era is that if you aren't mechanically inclined or just lack common sense there is a wealth of videos just like these that will teach you in clear, concise, language:
