I also like the response, which range from "if you don't like raising a child that isn't yours, you must be an incel" to "if you don't like raising a child that isn't yours, you must have been an abused child," both of which really reek of projection.

The amusing thing is, the OP didn't have to specify that it wasn't their child, yet gleefully did so regardless. If you put that out there, of course people are going to mock you.

No, nearly all the posters in r/stepparents are the stepparents. A lot of them are really mad their husband (it's nearly all women) has a pre-existing child even though they obviously knew about the child before getting married.

There are other incels and assholes in this thread who think that single mothers deserve to be shunned and isolated:

Imagine thinking that children don't deserve to have another father figure in life because their biological dad is dead or a deadbeat. And human beings are not "damaged goods." A person is not a defective item that should be thrown away.

I think we've progressed enough as a species to point out that if the only reason you want to have a child is to pass your DNA on, you shouldn't have a kid. I mean, when people decide to have children, they're not thinking "I must pass on my genes," they think "I want to create a new life that I will nurture into adulthood. I want to have a family." Actually, alloparenting- parental care provided by an individual towards a non-descendant young- is far from rare in the animal kingdom and is present numerous human societies. I have to disagree on homeschooling. It’s not traditional at all. Do you think the Amish homeschool? No they do not. This is what I don’t get about converts to traditional Catholicism. They make fun of cultural Catholics, but don’t realize that cultural ties in a close knit community—the rural village in the old country, the crowded urban environment in the new—is what kept people together and kept them going to church. If you raise your kids in an environment where they’re homeschooled and you’re driving an hour to go to Latin mass once a week, how many other Catholics are they gonna know? Are they gonna stay as adults? Contrast with Hasidic Jews, who have to live within walking distance of the synagogue and don’t homeschool and have a very high retention rate.

I guess you never heard of the sub 10,000 rule. Its kind of a joke that most subs are good when there are between 5000 and 10000 people because that when they have enough posters to stay active but small enough so the low effort post stay out.when a sub hit 10,000+ it tends to degrade rapidly mostly because the original mods bring in new mods most of them being toons.
