I used to read the piracy and bit torrent related subreddits but now they're filled to the brim with utter retards that think µTorrent is the best client ever. The eternal redditor needs to be first in line for the gas chamber.
The only time I ever look at it now is through Google results when I'm looking for specific information, and even then it's a matter of skimming the thread for the answer and then closing the tab.
The fun thing is that we have a position that's never been filled, pays $70k/year, requires you to have a nursing license and know SQL. The nursing license part is non-negotiable but HR would accept self-taught programmers, I'm pretty sure.

This redditism has infected the youtube comments too. Nowadays everyone who gets 100+ likes on a dumb comment has the need to go back and edit to thank for the likes. It wasn't like this before.

And 9 times out of 10 that comment is some sort of shit meme likely inspired by reddit subs like meirl. Stuff like "X exists: X: wacky reaction" really seem like simple format reddit 'jokes' that are just the lowest rung of observational comedy. Youtubes comments were bad before, but it seemed like far fewer of them were the same joke copied over and over. At least with copypastas about winning a million dollars if you copy a comment or the little girl who got murdered coming to kill you they were at least funny in their absurdity. The further homogeneity of the entire web, even more since the late 2000s, has made everything less unique between websites. A lot of Youtubers use Reddit, pretty much all websites use Youtube, after Tumblr died Twitter became it's worse replacement, removing another site from the pool of what the general populace uses.
I've seen quite a few youtubers complain that nowdays youtube comments have seriously decreased in quality, now of course, youtube comments were never known for their high quality, however they atleast talked about the video and it's subject, give critisism and feedback to the youtuber, nowdays it's just reddit humour, using the same templates over and over, barely talking about the video and just using it to post timestamps so they can make their epic joke that no one on the planet heard before, I remember going to a video about venezuelan prisons and how the inmates rose up and essentially created their own feudal micro-states but half the comments were talking about either the parties they had or posting a timestamp of 2 girls that the commenters were thirsting over, barely any discussion about how things managed to become that way.
I wish we could go back to the days wheen youtube comments where overly thought out political rants on a video that had nothing to do with said political rant. That or people just calling each other faggots for what ever reason.

Get a youtube enhancer extension and block comments and chats. If you're conservative at all there's a good chance you're shadowbanned from posting anyway so why bother reading this shit?
