I don't remember it because it was just a bland transition period between the turn of the millenium and now. The water was just warming up, but so slowly nobody noticed. Now it's boiling and the frogs are jumping out left and right!

Everything thats been sold as an advancement for the last 15-20 years have been a net negative for all of mankind, the biggest lie ever told is these dumb positivistic notion that we are progressing in a straight line because soycence.

Its also the beginning of the Asian century for better or worse, the western hemisphere is past its peak and seems irreversible, its decadence and decline is projected in its culture, woke being one of the manifestations. In any case the western liberal experiment could be on its last breath and even advocates kinda see it coming and are acting increasingly more neurotic about it.

Oh, the Asians are even more deeply fucked than we are. China's demographics are a nightmare that makes Japan look vibrant. The India-Pakistan-Bangladesh triangle is the only place with reasonably healthy demographics going forward and it's still not great given how many children die before age 5.

Its another flavor of distopia.

The demographic stuff is overplayed imo, diversity is not actually the west strength as propaganda claims. Japan's economy never pick up after the bubble burst but they are still more socially cohesive and remain much more high trust than most of the west making it more likely to endure times of economic hardship without crumbling apart, yes , conformism plays a big part too. Importing half of the third world would not be a good move for them. Europeans are finding out that they opened their doors, now have higher crime rates and social conflict but their economies are going to shit even faster now, it was a total loose-loose.

I hate to say it but Islam is also going to be a major force in the next few decades too and it has all the demographics in its favor, even thought Saudis have built their own house of cards and they are the ones bankrolling most of its spread. Israel and Saudi Arabia are definitely two of the eternal anglo's worst creations.
