Remembering Kotto from his quietly menacing performance as the pimp Harvard Blue in "Truck Turner", here showing up to a rival pimp's funeral overseen by the man's madam (Nichelle Nichols). The other pimps show their respects by ashing into the coffin. Blue...not so much.

Blaxploitation flicks were much better than such a genre had any reason to be. It's like in a lot of these, the actors were like fuck you, I don't care this is the only job I can get, I'm going to do DELIVER THE BEST PERFORMANCE EVER.

And so many of them go under appreciated and unsung these days because it's "racist" or some shit. Fuck that. These actors were fucking amazing at their roles, despite the stereotyping or oddity of the role. It just showed so much character of the time.

I hate modern journalism so fucking much. This Yahoo! article (which is just a useless wrapper around an equally useless Benzinga article) omits all sorts of details (surviving family, etc.) and lies about his cause of death being unknown (he committed suicide after suffering from post-Kung Flu symptoms). I dug around for more details and found better writeups on Business Insider (archive) and some random Fox affiliate (archive), but annoyingly I still can't find out whether he has any surviving family. That's bog-standard obituary material but nobody seems to have published it. When they teach "journalism" in college nowadays do they even bother with the "5 W's" doctrine anymore or is it all just gender studies and anti-whiteness now?

Journalism rant aside, this guy seemed like a decent chap. Gave up all his own pay during the pandemic to pay his workers, that sort of thing. May he forever more kick ass in that great roadhouse in the sky.

Modern journalism suffers from being sensationalist drivel, but with the added mix of minority-baiting. Facts and actual info is deemed racist and whatever-phobe, dontcha know.

Bobby Brown jr found dead at age 28. That family is cursed.

He was Bobby's son with Kim Ward.

TMZ reporting he had flu-like symptoms: https://www.tmz.com/2020/11/19/bobby-brown-jr-died-after-flu-like-symptoms/

No drugs found at the scene. I was assuming an overdose the way this family goes. I wonder if toxicology will pick anything up. Maybe he popped some pills.
I would guess the family hid the drugs, because it was a(nother) fentanyl/cocaine/alcohol overdose.
