I think William and Kate are the best bet for the Monarchy at this point. He seems like he'd carry on the Queen's tradition of a hands off reign plus he has a good relationship with the people.

I still appreciate the role of The Royal Family, especially when I look at the shitshow that is the US Congress.

DMX was a complicated figure. He made history making three back to back #1 rap albums that almost reminded people of him being the new 2Pac (probably because they were bald), but he was also the picture perfect version of a criminal who couldn’t let go of the drugs while finding God.

”Slippin’” couldn’t be any more timely.

RIP. Yeah I would rather die than be a living vegetable. Got to give it to his family. It's not an easy decision and some families choose to let their love ones stay as vegetables because they can't let go. So at least they did the right thing here.

I didn’t want to shit up the DMX memorial thread, but frankly, no ‘music’ is worth inspiring hundreds of thousands of proto-thuglets of all skin colours to pursue a career as a ‘gangster’. Every second #BLM fruitcake was probably a fan.
And here we are on a website that seems to run counter to the modern ‘whitey bad, nigger good’ zeitgeist and we have scores of bedsheet-white mayo boys tonguing nigger anus. I just don’t get it.
So what if DMX died? It’s not like his ‘art’ is uncommon, hell, every third black person under 50 thinks they’re a rapper. Grunting rhythmically and making up stupid ‘street’ words is not an actual life skill.
We’ve got one nigger dead from a drug overdose who gets shit heaped upon them in the Derek Chauvin trial thread, and another nigger dead of a drug overdose on the DMX memorial thread who’s being lauded like the second coming. Only difference between them is a slimy music producer.

my fish has dropsy. this condition is a fatal one. nothing i can do can save him at this point and the best thing for him would be euthanasia. however, because i am a little bitch, i cant bring myself to take him out of his misery. so instead ive decided not to feed him any further and have him starve to death which imo is much worse than me doing something to his water to kill him quicker, but i cant bring myself to do something like that. he already had a lack of appetite for any food i tried giving him and before i noticed the dropsy he already hadnt eaten his food in like a day or 2. i feel like a bad person for doing this but what else can i do

Going to agree with above posters -- us loving hood niggas being niggas is hypocritical. Much of the degenerate culture of blacks were inspired/reinforced by him (he didn't invent them, "ebil society made me like dis", but he sure as hell reinforced it). We can talk about race and cultural aspects, but I want to focus on one thing many of the posters here have strong feelings about. Pit bulls (pibbles, baby-eaters). He was part of the ilk who made pibbles "popular" and now we have murder dogs everywhere in US society (see the pibble thread).

I know kiwis like his music because of nostalgia and that he had the "lol fag" attitude, but every Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and George Floyd emulated his attitude and culture. Why? Is it just because "his music is cool, lol". Perhaps, but it makes me sad nonetheless.

Losing a pet can be hard, trust me I had to put down my childhood cat down during the beginningof 2020. He had a cancer tumor in his head. It was hard on me and I can't belive it is now a year since that happen.

In the 60’s and 70’s, they said the same thing about The Beatles, Frank Zappa and The Rolling Stones.

In the 80’s, they said the same thing about NWA and 2 Live Crew.

In the 90’s, they said the same thing about 2Pac, B.I.G and the East Coast/West Coast feud between rappers.

Like most well-known rappers who died too young, DMX was very self-aware about the fact that he was a dog who can’t be controlled. Not making excuses for the man, but I don’t think like a guy like him was meant to be a “role model”. His first half of his discography literally had him speaking as if he was devil, until later in his life when he decided to give his life back to God by making random prayers on the spot.
