RIP Thread

Famous and celebrated Hong Kong actor Kenneth Tsang, best known for his roles in “The Killer”, “Die Another Day” and “Rush Hour 2” has died at the age of 87 due to an unknown illness.

I say “unknown”, due to the fact that news reports kept saying that he was quarantining in a Chinese hotel where his body was found. There’s no reports suggesting that his death was related to the coronavirus.

Either way, he was a very talented and charismatic actor, and it’s impressive he was acting for over 50 years while finding success in both Hong Kong and America.

Did he say anything bad about the Chinese government recently?

Robert Morse, legendary Broadway actor and originator of the character "J. Pierrepont Finch" from "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" died yesterday. He was a cool guy, very animated in his acting (to the point that I wish someone had used him as inspiration for an animated character).

Loved his tenure on Mad Men, which made me look for his earlier work. he had a long life at least.

Reality TV’s Toddlers and Tiaras child star Kailila Posey has died due to suicide.

She was just 16 years old.

RIP character actor Mike Hagerty, dead at 67 (cause of death so far unknown or unrevealed).

Mike Hagerty was one of those "you don't know his name but you know his face" kind of actors who mainly played blue collar worker-type roles. He was probably best known for portaying building superintendent Mr. Treeger on Friends but I'll always know Mike Hagerty for his small role as Davy, the public access cable station manager in Wayne's World. His final role seems to have been as farmer Ed Miller on the HBO series Somebody Somewhere.

I gotta admit I never quite understood why Davy got fired from Aurora Cable 10 in that one Wayne's World scene. I think the implication is that it had something to do with sleazy TV producer Benjamin Oliver (Rob Lowe's character) purchasing Wayne Campbell's show to exploit it, but Wayne's World was just one show among many on "Cable 10 Aurora, Illinois Community Access Channel".

He had one of the best mustaches in Hollywood, right up there with Sam Elliot and the guy who played Super Mario from the Mario cartoons on Saturday mornings. If anything, he’d play the role of the vintage cable guy very well.
