While I didn’t listen to his material post hmm, 2010, Toby’s earlier stuff is a lifelong favorite of mine. I have a distinct recollection of listening to his first greatest hits album on a cassette Walkman while riding the Kindergarten bus. It’s one of my favorite childhood memories. Just last night I searched for and played “Beer for My Horses” on repeat. Had the weirdest feeling that I should.
I honestly had a feeling that this would happen, unfortunately. His last interview from about a week ago, he didn't look that good. Bit of a PL but I've had a family member that went through a similar ordeal with internal organ cancers, and they looked eerily similar about a month or so before they passed, sort of that bundled up hunched over and frail look. Cancer is the absolute worst, and I seriously wouldn't wish it on anybody. I'm not the biggest fan of his type of country music, but I did go with friends to see him in concert about a decade back or so, whenever that red solo cup song was popular, and whilst that song still makes me want to carve out my eardrums, I do admit that he put on a hell of a show, and he had some really great songs. He also genuinely supported the US troops, and seemed to have a good family life as well.
felt pretty fitting to play this. Rip Toby a my old home town falls silent without you.
Yeah someone made a shitpost thread in either Q&A or generally talking about it. What being British does to a man- another kiwiwww.foxnews.com/entertainment/king-charles-cancer-caught-early-uk-prime-minister-says
Speaking of cancer, this may not be a death yet, but King Charles the 3rd has cancer.
And one youtuber added his pinch of salt about Toby Keith.I’m not trying to be dumb here; was Toby Keith’s cancer public, or did he hide it like Norm and Reubens did?
I live in a place where I stick out for not listening to country music. I didn’t know that he had it until early this morning.

In June 2022, Keith announced he had been diagnosed with cancer the previous fall and was receiving chemo and radiation therapy, as well as having surgery.
At the time, he said he was doing well, but he needed time to "breathe, recover and relax."
Honestly, both him and Garth Brooks were the literal legends of country music for us younger millennials in the early to mid 2000’s. This one sucks even more since Toby Keith was the name that you instantly recognized in the Atlantic City/New Jersey circles, even if you’ve never heard a piece of his music.
He's had cancer for a while. His son married it.www.foxnews.com/entertainment/king-charles-cancer-caught-early-uk-prime-minister-says

God dammit not Mojo Nixon too!Mojo Nixon, the greatest Nixon to have ever walked the earth, died the way only he knew how, at the Outlaw Country Cruise at age 66, finally joining Elvis in the great gig in the sky.
Mojo has a BIG place in my heart. The Bowl household was touched by him personally (no, not like that), and our hearts are hurtin’. Rest in peace, brother.
