RIP Thread

My condolences to Toriyama-sensei. I used to begin to watch and read DB stuff a lot when I was a kid, and he brought me vivid memories for some of the best moments known in Shounen history; even if I have moved away from liking Shounen shit when I was a teen. Thank you for your utmost efforts and meticulous contribution as the creator of Shounen and bringing it to mainstream media, especially towards your most dedicated fans.
Now, Mexicans and their fellow amigos will have to get through the immense loss and suicide watch. Hope you all recover soon from your mournings.

RIP Mr. Toriyama :'(

Latin America on suicide watch
You joke, but pretty much all of us south of the murrican border feel like an important piece of our youth has waned off. We didn't feel like this since the death of Chespirito, and the trifecta of millennial ephemera will be complete once Matt Groening passes away as well.

RIP to a real one. Thanks for all things Dragon Ball and your inputs for Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Blue Dragon and Go Go Ackman.

+1, I agree and Dragon Ball paved the way for others series like One Piece and Naruto.

I was a passive fan mainly because of Dragon Quest. A lot of my Mexican friends are very very torn up, much more than me. Iconic doesn't even begin to describe his impact.

Goddamn.... a bad week for anime fans...😔
Giving all my respect and condolences to their families and friends.

And I will say, that's one thing that the Japs usually tend to get right with notable people and celebrities, they traditionally hold off on these type of media announcements until after the family has had time to grieve and make arrangements, and oftentimes the ceremony/burial/what have you is already done and over with by the time the public is informed. A stark contrast to the TMZ type atmosphere in the west where they're on 24/7 "deathwatch" for certain ailing celebrities, crowding the hospitals and hounding the families the minute the death is announced. I wouldn't put it past them to livestream the pulling of the plug and the last gasps of the death rattle if they thought they could get away with it.
