Now Willie Nelson is the last of The Highwaymen:
My immediate thought as well. One of the few country "supergroups", and what a hell of a group it was. Kris Kristofferson is severely underrated, especially as a songwriter. He wrote for everyone from Janice Joplin to Elvis, from Gladys Knight, to practically all the country music stars of the Golden Era until recently. R.I.P.

And I'm not ashamed to admit that when Willie goes, I'll be a wreck. He's really one of the last standing from the golden era of country music.

Two big names that I did not expect on the RIP bingo card. One mastered both country music and acting in both Blade and A Star is Born while the other was one of the big names from Africa that dominated the NBA and made Michael Jordan blush by not being afraid of him on defense.

It’s been a while since entertainers’ deaths did something like that.

It was a good era for African born shot blocking specialists in the NBA. Motumbo and Hakeem Olajuwan had more than 7000 blocks between them and their careers pretty much overlapped (#2 and #1 all time). Games were a bit lower scoring back when more aggressive defense was allowed.
