RIP Thread

During the time of the unnameable virus of totally unknown origin I felt pretty isolated and had also broken up with someone I thought was her. I was in a dark place. I discovered he had a YouTube channel and he uploaded regular mini-concerts. Those little videos brought a little light in my life and I owe him a lot.

Rest in peace Neil.

"No parent should have to bury their child" - Theoden.
It also reminds me of that one quote.

"A wife who loses a husband is called a widow. A husband who loses a wife is called a widower. A child who loses their parents is called an orphan. But there is no word to describe a parent that loses a child, because the loss is like no other."

Dominiq Ponder, Colorado QB, died in a car crash Sunday morning at 3 AM.

Police said Ponder, who was driving a 2023 Tesla Model 3, lost control on a curve, and the car went across the eastbound lane, striking a guardrail and then an electrical line pole, before rolling down an embankment and catching on fire.

Todd Meadows, star on the Reality TV show Deadliest Catch, died at the age of 25.
RIP Todd.

Somewhat unrelated, am I the only one who thinks GoFundMe is a sleazy company? Feels like any obit includes one, which makes me believe GFM gives kickbacks to, I dunno, news media, hospitals, or funeral homes for suggesting that the family set one up for expenses.

No one has life insurance?

Now, this Todd fella has a thinly veiled advertisement plopped right into (one of) the last thing's most people will read about him. Not his life or accomplishments; a reminder to donate to a fund that will go to another group of eagerly-opportunistic shysters.

Pretty sad that we've come to this.
