Whethan (who helped bring Alien Boy to life) has shared some images from back in the day.

No, they aren't. No more dange than driving your car. They're safer than airplanes, too.

No, it isn't. Out of all the countries in South America, Brazil is near the bottom of the "bad drivers" list. L

You'd shit your pants if you found out how much manufacturing and tech work is offshored to Brazil.

Not that many.

Are you really lumping some d-list YouTube singer in with Kobe and Colin McRae? McRae, one of the best WRC pilots ever, and Kobe, a dude so famous that you only need to put down his first name? Come on.

Back on your initial statement, here's an article on McRae's accident that focuses on the impact to fellow race car driver Dario Franchitti saying that helicopters are a safe form of travel. That's in an article about his friend dying in one.

My friend, you have the worst takes and it's okay not to comment on something just bec you get an urge to troll. Don't ever feel bad for not putting your one cent in; we won't mind.

Sorry about the off topic rant everyone, but please stop blindly "liking" comments like this without being critical of the content.
Guys I think I pissed off a Brazilian.

Brazil is a shithole. It's dangerous to drive because it is filled with Brazilians.

Helicopters are not as safe as fixed wing aircraft, they have a 35 percent higher crash rate per 100,000 flight hours compared to planes. It is contested whether helicopters are equal too or more dangerous than cars.

I would never get into a helicopter piloted by Pedro Silva and his cousin Manny Chavez.

What is a WRC Pilot? Do you mean WRC driver because if you actually mean pilot he did not have a good history piloting things that fly.
Just because you can drive a rally car good does not automatically qualify you as a good helicopter pilot. He was literally found to be at fault for his fatal crash as he made several errors while flying close to the ground. Most people are too retarded and should not pilot helicopters or planes.

How am I trolling by putting up the fact that famous people have died in helicopter accidents.

How many niggas do you know that have the name Kobe?

Here's a few more

Davey Allison
Vic Morrow
Troy Gentry
Graeme Strachan
Frank Wells
Thierry Sabine
Steve Hislop
Gary Powers

Gene Shalit 1926-2026. Holy shit I thought this guy had died years ago. I remember seeing him on the NBC morning show doing movie reviews as a kid in the 80's. Getting to 100 is pretty impressive RIP.
Best mega-Jew movie critic of all time, with the most epic mustache. Ave atque vale motherfucker.
I had just mentioned him on here not long ago. Can't really complain about 100 though.
If you reach 100 you pretty much won at life.

It's sort of like Kissinger (although Salit was just a movie talking guy and not an absolute fiend). I was anticipating celebrating the death of Kissinger. But then when he actually died, I realized this dude completely won at life. His entire life, he was completely in charge, he was an advisor (and in his case that meant he completely controlled) every single President, because they slavishly followed his advice.

He was even a popular cultural figure when you consider Dr. Strangelove.

Age 100 though is still just automatically a win condition. You won life.

Are you calling Stevie Ray Vaughn a d-list YouTube singer?

I only know of the jesus nut. What are the others?
Losing or damaging to the tail rotor or shaft that drives the tail rotor causing the helicopter to spin uncontrollably. At higher forward speeds you can kinda counter it a bit with the tail fin but you are kinda beyond saving the helicopter at that point because you need to slow down forward speed which kills the aerodynamic stability keeping the helicopter from spinning. You need to be a very good pilot with good training and balls of steel because you have to to going quite fast low to the ground before killing as much forward momentum as possible at the last available second.

There is a brand of helicopters called Robinson helicopters with some notorious models(R22 and R44) that experience a phenomenon aptly named the "tail boom chop" where the main rotor blades providing lift can literally chop the whole tail section off of the helicopter leading to the aircraft crashing. It's also called "mast bumping" but the premise is that if you push the nose to far forward too quickly the helicopter experiences low gs and the rotor blades become unloaded and the helicopter starts to lose control leading to pilots trying to over correct causing the blades to both flex and tilt the rotor hub backwards enough for them to make contact with the tail. This problem doesn't just affect Robinson helicopters, this is a problem with other 2 bladed helicopter designs and many other helicopters can have this happen but Robinsons helicopters are cheap compared to other models so they are quite popular with private owners leading to crashes due to inexperienced pilots pushing the helicopter past its limits.

I'm not a helicopter pilot or physics genius and there's more to the whole issue but that's kinda the TLDR of it.

I remember watching Oliver Tree back in like 2020 or so; he did the videos with cherdleys and the H3H3 podcast before Ethan Klein became a pariah. I liked his music and thought he was funny. Admittedly, I kind of forgot about him in recent years. It's sad he died in such a horrible way. RIP Oliver Tree.

The guy was the last of the a-political shit posting good musicians. A breath of fresh air but sadly Brazil had to take him.

Graeme Strachan
This one hit hard. Shirl was a legend.
For non Ausfags, Graeme "Shirley" Strachan was the lead singer of legendary Aussie glam/pub rock band Skyhooks, funny as fuck, and by all reports a top bloke. He got the nickname "Shirley" on account of his hair looking a bit like Shirley Temple's because it was so curly.

In Shirl's case, he was on a helicopter flying lesson at the time.
Back to the present day... I have no idea who Oliver Tree is, and I suspect if I did I'm far too old to really appreciate his stuff. However, I don't know need to know who he is to know that dying in a mid-air helicopter crash would be an awful way to go, and 32 is way too young.

How the fuck does this keep happening? Stop going on Helicopters if you're a celebrity, I suppose. Rest easy, Oliver, this is a shame to hear about.
