RIP Dolly. Thank you for all the books for my kids.

Dolly Parton was the prime example of someone who used their celebrity and influence for good. Promoted literacy. Donated to medical research. Supported victims of natural disasters. All of it done with little fanfare. We could all be more like her.

Fucking hell, don't mind me. I'm going to be curled into a corner sniffling like a moron and mourning Dolly's passing.
This actually saddens me so much, what she did not only for female country but country overall can't be overstated. She paved the way for people like Taylor Swift, Ella Langley, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, etc. She will be missed!

Dolly ruled. Literally the best female guitar player I'd ever seen perform (recently overtaken by Gina from Baroness).

The world's first clone, Dolly the Sheep, was named after her because she was cloned from mammary cells.

I always loved that about her. In the realm of performative celebrity donations, the South gets nothing. But being a Southerner, she always put us first and always donated when something happened here. A massive loss to the area, honestly.

Dick van Dyke, Carol Burnett, Mel Brooks. I will be truly sad when they go.
Don’t speak these into existence, especially Mel Brooks. Had the pleasure of meeting him about 20 years ago. He is just like one would imagine.

Paul McCartney will ruin me.

I heard Dolly was in really bad heath like a few years ago. I thought she died then, RIP anyway.

Dolly was one the sweetest human beings to ever live, but she was also sharp as a tack. I love the way she subtly but firmly put Barbara Walters in her place in this interview, just by being herself.

ngl I don't normally get strong feels over celeb deaths, but Dolly's passing hits hard
