RIP Thread

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oh my goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooddddddddddddddddddd what a fucking tragedy.

He had so much ahead of him. Several arrests, a litter of mutt kids, an OD or two, and maybe a single that cracks the top 200.
He achieved so much in the 36 years he was on this earth!

Let's start a petition to have Pennsylvania Avenue renamed to 'Snootie Wild Boulevarde'. It's only right.
Credit where credit's due, at least his name didn't start with "Lil'"

I just want to say how much I love MASH. Both the show and movie
You should try reading the book they were both based on. It's gutbustingly funny as long as you aren't woke, what with having characters named 'Spearchucker Jones' and stories of trips to Seoul to find and fuck 'the epileptic whore' it's so very much a product of it's time but really amazingly funny. The finest kind.

Australian cricketing legend Rod Marsh has died at 74, after a serious heart attack just over a week ago.

Arguably his greatest claim to fame was breaking his own beer drinking record when he drank 46 cans of beer on a flight between Sydney and London in 1983. This record was later smashed by another legendary Australian cricketer, David Boon, who drank 52 cans of beer on a flight from Sydney to London in 1989.

What is it with Aussie cricketers and heart attacks? Shane Warne dead at 52.

Edit: Warnie's final tweet was about the passing of Rod Marsh.

Vale the Sheikh of Tweek. Unironically I think the biggest death of an Aussie celeb to effect me since maybe Steve Irwin? An absolute tragedy, and I'll very much miss his contributions in the commentary box.

I was at the pub last night with some mates, having a sesh. And first thing I saw on my phone when headed home was a post on the Beetoota Advocate, with Warnie. Had no clue and thought it was some crude joke about Rod Marsh. Anyways, my Uber driver mentioned it was true, and I just feel devo'd.

That's a fair shout. The last time I remember two Aussie legends with statures like Bacchus and Warnie passing away within days of each other was when Steve Irwin and Peter Brock died in the same week. It kinda feels a bit like that, only we're sharing our grief with the Poms instead of the Seppos this time around.

Steve Irwin and Peter Brock
Steve Irwin was a dangerous idiot with zero zoological training, and an enthusiastic union-buster. He was a friend of John Howard and one of the first to take advantage of Howard’s WorkChoices, which was a direct attack on the rights of workers. He got every person on staff at Australia Zoo onto the new workplace agreements as soon as the ink was dry on the legislation.

Peter Brock‘s job was to NOT drive into obstacles and he fucked it up. He was also the driving force behind importing the horrible Lada Niki into Australia and using his influence to have it allowed on the roads despite its habit of bursting into flame when rear-ended. There are dozens of people who died or were severely injured when this rolling death trap was approved.

Neither of these men were heroes.
