The first thing I think of when I think of Vangelis is the soundtrack to the original Cosmos with Carl Sagan.

The soundtrack isn't all Vangelis but Vangelis's otherwordly music was used for the theme and for many of the most profound segments with Carl Sagan narrating.

This clip about Cosmic Evolution uses "Alpha" from the Vangelis album Albedo 0.39.

Quit making fun of a senile old man you bastard. Obviously I meant that little tiny Linda Hunt woman, but Vangelis actually did do that specific song I embedded. My post implied he'd also done the rest of the score, well, that was wrong if it did, but I was thinking of the specific song of his that was actually in the movie.
