It would be a real shame if I found out that Mel Brooks will be up next if word came to him about this news. I don’t know how he’d react.Norman Steinberg, screenwriter behind Blazing Saddles, dies at 83.

That much of suck getting shot by the vice president and being force to apologize for getting shoted on live television. And to live with being known as that guy for the rest of your life. This is kinda late, but Harry Whittington, whom Dick Cheney shot in a "hunting accident" in 2006, died in early February, a scant month shy of 96.

I was just thinking about Moore's Law the other day. I was taught a more general version of the Law where technology advances double every 18-24 months. I hadn't used a flash drive in a couple years, so I went on Amazon and saw they were selling 1 TB flash drives for $25 and my mind was blown. Hell, they have 2 TB drives for $40 now.
Those are chinesium fakes. They typically have 32GB of real flash on them and a controller chip that's been hacked to lie about its real capacity to the host. The host "sees" 1TB and will cheerfully write to it, expecting it to be valid. But the moment you write beyond the 32GB of real flash space, the hacked controller just "loops back around" and starts from 0 again, overwriting whatever got written earlier. Since it's the drive itself faking its capacity, this immediately destroys the filesystem on it (since its metadata structures, superblocks, etc. get overwritten). Needless to say, you lose the data you were writing there.so I went on Amazon and saw they were selling 1 TB flash drives for $25 and my mind was blown.
Gay degenerate croaked. Good.
Excellent. My congratulations to your fortunate widow.RIP me. I died
