Feels bad for his kid, but his music was a bit shite. Wouldn't call it a loss for popular music.

It sounds like he was a drunk who picked a fight with gravity and lost. At least he won't do it again.

One Direction was a huge phenomenon, and very much of-a-time. An awful lot of ex-teenagers are going to be suddenly confronted with a mixture of grief and nostalgia.

I was an older teen when One Direction came around. My younger cousins loved it much more than I was interested in it.

I didn’t really keep up with them after the band split. But Liam was the one that kind of dropped off. A few different people on the internet had been poking fun at him this year for not being as relevant afterwards. Apparently he talked about suicidal ideations and his attempts at staying sober last year. He’s been dating an “influencer” however. So jet setting to party in South America with your influencer girlfriend probably isn’t the best way to keep off of the alcohol.

The alcohol probably played a part in it. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an act of suicide. I also just read on his Wikipedia page where they have a link to Joe Exotic expressing his condolences :story:

Three stories is a pretty short fall for a deliberate suicide, unless he took a header or something. If you're going to go that way you really want to hit terminal velocity.

Really? It’s sad that he randomly died but I always got the impression that he was the member 1D fans gave the least shits about. Also apparently some woman accused him of abuse beforehand so all the people on xitter who were fans kept saying “he was a terrible person but I’m sad he died”.

I read in the paper today that he was taking anti-anxiety meds, and was drinking along with that. He fucked the chemistry, electricity, synapses, whatever, in his brain, I reckon. His mind probably went into some sort of psychotic shock. His ex-fiance was worried about him prior, too, because, according to her, he was sure he was going to die young.
