I know your (possibly) joking, but it's up to the State to mete out punishment based on the information available.

They don't always get it right, for sure, but can you imagine what kind of chaos would erupt if we just started letting prisoners out because they killed someone "worse?" That's not what a civilized society encourages, no matter how much it might be justified.

An "eye for an eye" just leaves a room full of blind men.

Hell yeah, this is the best showing of their 80s era. It's beautiful, and the message is too. You said that you and your first crush loved the song. The song is actually about a man daydreaming about where his first crush might be today, and whether or not she still thinks about him after all these years.

Hell, unless he's also a murderer (of non-pedophiles) I'd almost argue for a pardon given he's legitimately made the world a measurably, objectively better place by his actions and redeemed himself on the scales of justice, at least a little.
