One of the great scenes to me in Woody Allen's sci-fi comedy Sleeper is the part where the future rebels are trying to deprogram Allen's character of his government brainwashing by making him roleplay a re-enactment of an episode from his family life back in the 20th Century (I believe Allen may have been parodying some styles of therapy at the time), only for them to lose control when Allen starts thinking he's Blanche DuBois, and Diane Keaton's character is told to play along which she does so by launching into an outrageous imitation of Marlon Brando (who'd been the star of a big movie she'd had a role in recently) as Stanley Kowalski.

Diane Keaton was one of those celebrities that you never really think about their aging and mortality. She was always just "there". As if you expect them to be around forever. I felt the same way about Leslie Nielsen and Davis Bowie. RIP.

D'Angelo, soul singer, died at the age of 51 from pancreatic cancer.

I don't even know how to process this right now, especially since I loved his music so much. This came right out of fucking nowhere.
Absolute day ruiner, I'm just fucking gutted by this unexpected loss.

Fly high, legend. My fellow kiwis, don't forget that the all-seeing one above always takes the good ones first because He always wanted to meet them beforehand.

RIP D'Angelo.

Also my apologies for doubleposting on this thread, but today would have been Charlie Kirk’s 32nd birthday.

Pray for his family and for the soul of Charlie. May he continue to rest in peace.

You beat me to the punch 😔

RIP to the man that created Voodoo

That entire album is amazing, going back and listening to Brown Sugar is also good as well. Aaliyah and D'angelo got me into R&B and sucks that they're both dead now. This was the song that got me into him since I like Redman and Method Man:
Underrated guitarist too.

Gotta mention D'Angelo again.
He was pals with some of the guys at Rockstar and would hang out with them while they were making RDR2 which D'Angelo loved playing SO MUCH, it inspired him to write and consequently perform the song, "Unshaken" which plays during Arthur's return from Guarma.

Unshaken

whoa that song was pretty good. wasnt a fan of this guy but 51 is goo young to die and cancers a bitch. RIP

We’ve lost so many legends this year. David Lynch, Ozzy, Cobra, and now D’Angelo. *sigh*
Don’t forget Hulk Hogan either.

Between him and Chuck Mangione of Mega-Lo-Mart fame, those two were personally the most unexpected to find out that they died.
