She was also in "Village of the Giants" (1965), which co-starred Ron Howard, Johnny Crawford, Beau Bridges, and a very young Toni Basil.
Yeah, also apparently she gave her acting career up to run a bakery and take care of her three children. I've always respected people who care more about family that celebritydom. RIP to the good souls.

Don Schlitz, songwriter that wrote songs like The Gambler for Kenny Rodgers, died at the age of 73.
Anyone interested in music should read that article, at the very least.

Schlitz had:
  • 50 (!) top 10 singles
  • 25 (!) number 1s
  • Only songwriter admitted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry (!)
  • ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year from 1988 to 1991
  • 3 x CMA Song of the Year Awards
  • 2 x ACM Song of the Year Awards
  • 2 x Grammy Awards
  • Only the sixth songwriter inducted into the Country Music HoF (at the time)
Yeah. "The Gambler" was a mega hit, but Schlitz was a living music legend.

I thought Bob and Tom was by far the shittiest of the shock jocks but this is a sign we’re at the end of an era.

Though I loathe morning zoo as one of the lowest forms of entertainment, Kevoian had undeniable talent as a guitarist, composer, and satirist if you were willing to look past the shit content of that program and the nails-on-a-chalkboard quality of their Beavis and Butthead-like compulsive laughter. I wish Griswold had gone instead, but thirty years ago. One positive is that their show got hundreds of comics the level of fame they needed to headline, sell CDs, etc.
