God fucking damn it, and he was even on some music tours when I started getting some real cash to see my favourite musicians live, first daft punk breaking and now this.

OutRun and 1984 have been on repeat the whole day. Odd Look (not the Weekend version) is still his best song, with ProtoVision being second and NightCall being third.

Costume designer and FUCKING LEGEND Jean-Pierre Dorleac has passed away at the age of 83 on July 23rd. He worked on costumes for TV and movies, including the Colonial uniforms and Cylon costumes for Battlestar Galactica. He did the costumes for Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, the special suit for Automan, and he earned five Emmys for his work on Quantum Leap. He also came up with the suit Ralph wears in The Greatest American Hero. On the big screen, he did the costumes for "Somewhere in Time" (for which he earned an Oscar), "The Blue Lagoon", and "Good Guys Wear Black".

81 years ago the savage japs struck the uss indianapolis with a torpedo leaving hundreds of americans stranded in the water for 3 days

879 americans died from drowning, dehydration and shark attacks a little over 300 were saved. thankfully they crew of the indianapolis delivered the a-bomb before hand so the japs could be bathed in nuclear hellfire for daring to test uncle sam's might.

Doug Stanton's In Harm's Way: The Sinking of the USS Indianapolis and the Extraordinary Story of Its Survivors is a great look at it. It was reissued last year. Mel Gibson bought the rights to it when it first came out with an eye to making a movie but it sadly never happened.

The ship's captain, Charles McVay, for decades would receive Christmas cards from families of those who died saying, "You were responsible for my son's death -- burn in hell" because the fucking Navy threw him under the bus and blamed him.

Ronnie Le Drew, the puppeteer who worked Zippy on the British children's program Rainbow, has died aged 78.

Le Draw also worked on Labyrinth (1986), The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), Muppet Treasure Island (1996), and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019).
I'm very said to hear that, but what an amazing career. He will never be dust.
