Nick Bougas is what I think of when I think counter culture/punk rock.
He didn't give a shit what people though, he stomped to the beat of his own drums.
There will be another like him. Rest in Power big dog.

ToS Sailor in that photo = Steve Sailer.
He has tried to deny this, since the association with the Temple of Set would be disastrous for his bottom line, but cmon…

That photo of the 8-8-88 Rally (held in San Francisco, because of course it was) has always fascinated me. The event was the work of the Abraxas Foundation, a clique made up of Boyd Rice (better known for NON, involved in a million things), Adam Parfrey (chief of Feral House, also involved in a million things), and Nikolas Schreck (would later marry Anton LaVey’s daughter, become New Age weirdos). Not pictured is Michael J Moynihan. Also of note in this picture is Bob Heick, founder of the American Front, sporting the stylish Abraxas Foundation patch on his jacket, and the princess herself Zeena Schreck neé LaVey!

For Nick Bougas’s part (RIP), by this time he would have been an editor and contributing artist for The Manson File (chief edited by Schreck, contributing edits by Rice, and published by Parfrey’s Amok Press). Not too long after this he would hook up with Jim and Debbie Goad to contribute illustrations to “Answer Me!”, wherein his most famous and most free-air-enjoying creation was born.

Actor Michael Wright, known for films such as The Five Heartbeats, shows such as Oz, and video games such as voicing Black Mask in Batman: Dark Tomorrow, has passed away.
"Five Heartbeats" had one of my favorite 90s songs. Even though it's evoking classic Motown, the whole arrangement is so reflective of the time period that it was released you can practically see the Day-Glo on it.

Sean Grayson, former Sangamon County deputy that murdered Sonya Massey, died in prison.
Reading up on this, yeah this guy was a piece of shit. I wanted to think it was just nigger nonsense about perceived police brutality but god damn.
If they rioted over this women instead of George Floyd, I might have understood.
Edit: Not condoned, but understood. That cop wanted to shoot someone in the head.

That comic on the bottom is not one of his better known works but I find it intriguing as a time capsule into the right wing dissident movement during the ‘90s. People often forget that in those days the Clinton administration really had a hard on for skinheads/white nationalists and the Feds were doing anything in their power to fuck with them under the idea they were “dangerous domestic extremists”, which is ultimately the mentality which led to Ruby Ridge and Waco. The OKC bombing (glowie shit aside) really put gasoline on the fire and it was ostensibly done as retaliation for the latter two incidents.

Honestly, I see the targeting of the American far-right during this time period as the regime attempting to find a new enemy and casus belli following the collapse of the Soviet Union. When the Soviets were gone the regime needed to find a new enemy to fight against in order to justify its own existence. First it was white nationalists, then after 9/11 it was Islamic extremism, now it’s the Russian Federation and Iran.

If only they had decided the enemy was nigger criminals, although I guess that would be solved easily if they put forward any actually honest effort, so I guess that wasn't a good target to pick.

RIP to the goat

he used to direct films about trans black filthy prostitutes with severe disabilities, and yet treated them with an artists respect. the tradfags and casual racists are a pale imitation. god i can't even post some of his work because it would make the middle aged tradfags here asshurt

But as usual, it was made specifically a race case instead.
