he was a master of portraying villainy.
beyond the clown, the cardinal, and the cross-dresser, i'll remember him for this role:

I was actually just thinking yesterday about how Dolly is (was) one of the last remaining figures in American culture that was universally beloved. Young, old, black, white, liberal, conservative. Even if you weren't a fan of country music you loved Dolly. I'm now racking my brain trying to draw another name that fits that category who is still living and I'm drawing a blank.

EDIT: Flags at half staff for a week.

From what I've researched of Dolly Patron, she'd be one of the few people in the world that would be considered holistically good and pure. Audrey Hepburn, Fred Rogers, Jimmy Carter. I've never heard her music, but I've seen speak in interviews. She seemed witty, funny and always positive. I hate to see old women die, but she was forever young.

Meh, I'll never forgive her for singing that stupid VACCINE version of her song Jolene on TV to try to get people to take the Covid vax.

That made me low-key hate her.

I was a wee brie when I first saw the TRHPS, and Dr. Frank N Furter made me feel funny, but in a good way.

I loved it when Tim Curry popped up in"Earth 2" (a very underrated show IMHO).

Jaye P. Morgan got kicked off The Gong Show in spectacular fashion. She quickly flashed her tits during the closing credits of an episode, and this clip exists online. It was the '70s, but mainstream America wasn't ready for that, so she got canned... for flashing her cans.

John Waters advocated for Leslie van Houten to be released from prison.

And I cannot find the original article, but he donated money to fund her housing and care after she was released. I lost any respect I had for him after that.
Fair.... I did not know this.
