i swear i didnt get paid for this
rising thunder is a f2p fighting game currently in alpha. basically its got robots from other countries and they fight. it's great. there are big bulky robots and ninja robots and horrible mexican robots with shitty invincible moves. the emphasis is on simplicity - you have 3 attacks (light/med/heavy) and 3 special moves, along with a throw and a super. you can get different "loadouts" by switching special moves out. it's fucking awesome for people who want to skip the "545 hours in training mode doing cr.lp cr.lp cr.hp ex shoryuken" - the inputs are easy and buffer generous. you can jump right into thinking about the metagame. currently there is only ranked fights and training mode but the netcode is really smooth, very minimal lag.
i know i said alpha but the devs have been giving away keys like candy. got mine in ~2hrs. i know i also said f2p but as of now, everything is free, automagically unlocked, and you *can't* waste money on it yet. just be aware, theres only 5 characters so far and 1 stage - although the updates have been pretty steady
if you never played a fighting game, or never had the autistic dedication to learn 1 frame links for combos, give this a spin. it's also got seth killian on staff, and i've never met anyone as dedicated to the fgc as him.
