Uh... are you talking about what happened to Female monk?

Even in episode 1, nothing in Goblin Slayer is ever shown on screen. Even in the light novels (which I've read) things are always implied and the author seems to realize that leaving things to the imagination of the reader are so much worse.
The issue was the blocking. When the goblins are tearing off the clothes it looks a little bit like posing to me and gave me a why-boner. That's all I meant.

They were literally looking for a man because of a thing they couldn't do. They placed their members as sex slaves to the rich and powerful to get them pregnant in an attempt to create that man.

They were the equivalent of a weak girl looking for a guy to open a stuck jar for them. Their entire purpose was trying to find a man and browbeat him into letting them run his life.

They reacted with disgust to any woman exhibiting independent thought or ability beyond theirs (see how they reacted to Alia).

Did Herbert have a shitty marriage and let it bleed into the bene gesserit in the stories or something? The BG were anything but feminist.
I dunno. Seems pretty feminist to me. (you ever seen how they react to women disagreeing with them?)
Weren't the Reavers the product of a failed mind control experiment or something?
Yes. The revelation that the Alliance basically doped up a world to see if they can make everyone more docile.

Ironically I've heard someone complain that this was completely unrealistic.
You keep Monopoly in your closet so you can haul it out at times like this.

Roads are frozen. Snow and ice. Cable and internet is spotty.

Monopoly can keep everyone busy for hours and everyone knows the rules and you can use whatever for the tokens.

I keep a copy of it in the basement for tornado warnings and the like.

It's a great "we need something that only has a 15% chance of causing fist-fights."
I feel ya, but if people want to play monopoly, I'd say pick up Alien Frontier or Lords of Waterdeep instead. (at least, until someone invents a game that is truly a monopoly replacement)

Oh yeah - that I can understand.

Again, the show is a master at implications.

Of course what the mods and other idiots don't get is that by making the goblins sadistic little monsters, it makes it oh so very satisfying when Goblin Slayer goes to work.

Well... we can't ever say for sure because it's not like records of the past are super easy to come by - or are even 100% truthful when they are.

It does bug me when fiction has the whole "Oh a minority showed up somewhere - they are instantly oppressed to the worst extent" - as if even majorities in areas don't have better things to do than hassle people.

On the other hand, I'm not sure things were quite as rosy as some people think. Suffice to say, survival was paramount. So a lot of times people would avoid violence just because of the risk to themselves. Especially in places without modern medicine where a sufficiently deep cut anywhere could kill someone.

Which is of course why SJWs hate it. If they imagine a republican getting elected is a death sentence, then of course they're just going to freak out over having to imagine actual bad shit.

Ironic since in the series Goblins are everything they claim right-wingers are. (though when the light novel gives you insight into their minds they are... well a little too much like RPG mods)

At this point I'm surprised RPG.net hasn't invented a game where all characters start out as white, straight males and then as you level up, you gain oppression features.
"You are now level 2!"
"Awesome! I wish to become black."
"You're not taking the trans trait?"
"Nah, I'm saving that for level 4."
The past was horrible for the most part, but there's a difference between horrible and a society where people murder each other on sight like a lot of video games. Outside of head hunting tribes that wasn't really the case.

Eeeengh Monopoly was designed to be a chore to play and I don't know a single person who plays boardgames not published by Hasbro who would agree to play it.
You must play with really boring people then. Monopoly is like Mario Party or 100% OJ in that it's a bullshit game designed as a vehicle to make your own fun. If you're three turns in and not at each others' throats Gordon Gekkoing it ironically you're doing it wrong.

...wat?

I think they overstimate their gravitas, They're certainly despised in an increasingly bipartisan way but using the phrase violence gives them was too much credit.
I can certainly say that RPGnet forums is not the main obstacle to a radical nationalist agenda.

I've only seen Being Too Awesome dragged out two or three times, and I don't remember what it was for... I wanna say one was for legal threats, or something.

Or you keep better games for the same reason. Carcassonne, Catan... Hell, Cards Against Humanity.

Monopoly was never fun, and anyone that says it is is a domestic abuse survivor trying to cope.

Monopoly and a lot of the classic luck-based board games don't follow the same aims modern games do. They are, as already mentioned, meant to pass long evenings when you can't do anything else (TV and radio are in their infancy, you have read all the books you wanted, you are too tired to fuck around in the shed/garage, and liquor is for later). They also allow childen to participate, and learn useful life lessons like sitting around the table, behaving in company, waiting for your turn while others move, and dealing with the consequences of losing, often due to sheer dumb bad luck. Don't knock it, they are important steps in growing up.

Would I play Monopoly with adults? Nah. My kids? Yes, and gladly.

I think it's a test. Being Too Awesome is the reason cited when they ban a dummy account they use for target practice. Why this needs to be public is beyond me.

It was kinda funny the first time they did it 10 years ago.

The original dummy account was “John Sunovabitch” or the like.

Do you even HAVE a family? Because we get out a Monopoly table and death threats and guns get taken out. Just saying. Episodes like this are why we stick to Trivial Pursuit.

Do people here use the auction rules when they play Monopoly?

I assume most people here know about them, but the vast majority have no idea they exist, let alone are the RAW.
