Sweet Baby thread wasn't interesting enough to screencap, just a lot of performative circlejerking about those damn racist gamerbros who hate modern games.

Reminder that a lot of these posters are literally, not figuratively, boomers.

Holy shit, of course he did. I'd not have thought of it, but it makes a ton of sense he got the idea by hanging around with degenerates. That's both horrifying and funny.
Transgenderism is a social contagion.
1. Imagine unironically going "Gamergate!" as if it's still relevant.
2. Would they ban this person if they complained about an evil bigoted chud not facing harsh enough repercussions instead?

How are any of these people going out and playing RPG's if they sit around their hug box crying all day about the people who actually do play? Reading their posts I assume they've played a handful of times and think their opinions matter now. They're just a bunch of tourists in the hobby and like any other citizen they can "give me their money" and then fuck right off.

They don't, they use roll20 and whatever other trannyware they can get their lubed up massive hands on. When seen outside IRL everyone recoils from the smell.

Even twenty years ago, the majority of posters on RPGNet were lapsed gamers whose main connection to gaming was consooming the latest White Wolf splat and discussing absurd hypotheticals as a form of entertainment. Things haven't improved since. But even twenty years ago, they loved to get offended about made up gamer horror stories. You'd get the idea all of IRL gaming was just creepy, unwashed game store guys trying to be creepy to women and disrupting games.

The social justice warrior aspect came later, and just repurposed these cynical assumptions about the gaming community with new language. In the #metoo period, RPGNet brought into the whole convention rape meme, which accused cons of covering up sexual assault on a regular basis. They way they described it made cons seem like places where random women were getting yanked into side rooms and raped all the time, while cackling con organizers would stand by and refuse to hear these completely real and not at all made up stories. Then these stories went away once the #metoo wave died down. I assume the current bogeyman would be white nationalists and TERFs.

But the mindset is fairly consistent. Little play, a whole lot of bitching.

Anything about the Custodes from 40k being retconned into having women amongst them? The kiwis are having an meltdown over it, kind of figured that this forum would probably be celebrating GW's attempt at embracing the DEI stuff.

Just the usual smug condescension.

God this hypocrisy gets old. "It's just toys - why do you care?" Why do YOU care? If it's all meaningless toys, then it doesn't matter that no-girls-allowed and you can fuck off. It's what bugs me about moviebob too, the attitude of "what I care about is most important, but what you care about is not" even if on an objective level, the objects of care in question are equal (like video game lore).

It's another iteration of one of the classic SJW talking points: my feelings count, yours do not.
