RPGnet Forums

The dumb thing about it is yeah, there are loooooots of RPGs with secret agendas and government-controlling shadow groups. It's not remotely new and I don't think it's particularly controversial either, dunno why they spazzed out about it other than the typical TDS because it involved current year conspiracies instead of something completely made up. That whole shit about the Jewish blood libel is especially head-scratchy; you can't have any random cult doing weird culty things now without someone thinking you're after the Jews? If the villains wore little caps and controlled the diamond district, maybe I'd raise an eyebrow.

"I banish you now to the howling voids..." Man, these Internet jannies take their RPGing seriously, or are just so worked up about eating ramen in their basements that they can't say anything without injecting a dose of cynicism, sarcasm, or just being an asshole to their own userbase.

Ironically, you can't even tell them to chill the fuck out without getting a permaban from the RPG.net Politburo - or General Secretary Tanka - I can't decide if he's the worst RPG.net mod or if the entire mod team is just that awful - maybe both? If RPG.net was the real world, I guarantee you that we'd all end up so perpetually burned out by the seriousness and 99.9% of us would jump off cliffs by the end of the first day to get away from the screeching and seething.

It's kind of funny that they think a ban means someone is going to a howling void rather than leaving one.

Honestly, I suspect that's exactly how they think. Remember, most of these twats are terminally online and can't comprehend a life outside of their hugbox.

Funny you mention Tanka, because as far as I can tell he's been vzyali'd. He hasn't been on since April 2022, and his mod tag is gone.

I know he's still listed on the 'big list'. After going through it, it seems the list is out of date. Accounts listed which no longer display a mod/admin tag:

Cessna
Future Villain Band
IceShadow
Sphinx of Black Quartz
Armin
Patrick Y.
Steamed Bun Love
Tanka
Wharrgarble

And obviously, Save-vs-DM is out as he died, unless he's moderating from the afterlife.

I find it interesting that a number of still-extant mods haven't logged in since 2022. A purge, perhaps?

BethDragon is IceShadow's wife, and while still a mod, she hasn't logged in since last June either.

The Jannies in these old, insular, dying forums haven't ventured out of their echo chambers in a literal decade.

I remember getting banned from Something Awful years ago just for saying "it's possible for a small country to experience too much immigration", the ban note was some smug lecture about racism meanwhile I'm like Why would anyone care about belonging to a community where expressing such a common sense opinion is a bannable offence?

Error has no rights in progressivism. Progressive politics are so transcendently, obviously correct that the only way anyone could ever disagree with or criticism them is because they are bad faith trolls.

Or evil - Nazis, fascists, Nazi fascists. Most criticism is, in fact, done in bad faith by fascist Nazis, because sounding like your disagreements and criticisms have a reasonable, sensible basis just makes you a worse person.

Honestly, they've basically reinvented the devil, adding to how their morality is a religion without any of the good bits like redemption or grace.

Does trooning out count as salvation through grace?
Grace implies mercy and love so...no. Plenty of cults and fringe religious groups practiced ritual castration though.

If you want to compare modern progressivism to an analogous Christian doctrine it would be more like the Edenic covenant: you can keep you favored position contingent on continued obedience to the law, but one transgression and you're cast out of  Eden the twitter circlejerk forever, no take-backs.

I wonder what he did or if it was actually voluntary. He's the last one of these deranged freaks I'd expect to give up his broom willingly.

Most notably the absolutely nutso Skoptsi of Russia.

Mods had to censor/replace their little creative writing exercise because it was triggering their members.

It means they get upset if they think someone has shunned or criticized them, even if that’s not the case. In other words, they're an autistic/ADHD nerd who is looking for more leverage for emotional blackmail and a way to make their feelings everyone else's responsibility. Labeling it 'dysphoria' is just a bonus for more troon-adjacent points.
I rather think it's a genuine anxiety that's indicative of the eggshell-covered, ouroboros social circles these people hang out in. Everyone is constantly on edge of making one wrong step that will get them banned from their favorite online community.
