Yes, I am sure. You might win a 2 on 1 fight, maybe 3 on 1 if you're very lucky but 10+ on 1 no fucking chance. He had a sword, not a machine gun. His helmet severely limits his peripheral vision so the moment he gets surrounded it's joever.

"Garbage equipment" your equipment is 2 pairs of hands to grab each of his arms and a pointy stick to shove into his eye. Hell, they could drag him to the nearest puddle and drown him in it.

You say this like the peasants are trained warriors like the knights, and not just untrained levies who wanted to live to see tomorrow.

Human bodies get really tired, really fast in melee combat. The thugs in front of him would avoid approaching him because of the natural human aversion to pointy objects, but he'd almost certainly get jacked from behind.

It was generally not really possible to disarm the peasantry completely, because they couldn't even grow the food that was their job to grow without a number of tools easily repurposed as crude polearms. With even rudimentary small unit tactics, things like pikes, halberds, even knives and hooks mounted on a pole could be used in formation to great effect.

By comparison, a knight was relatively hampered by the lack of support personnel. For every knight you had a dozen or more grunts. From horseback, a knight would be formidable, but a single jerk from a billhook and that knight would be on the ground.

These types of primitive tactics, often using improvised weapons, didn't really rely much on skill. Simply acting roughly in unison would allow you to use numbers to repel even mounted enemies, for instance, just by pointing a row of pikes at them. Now a group of armored knights could probably easily rout a rabble, but a single one against a dozen or more? That dude is fucked.

(And of course knights effectively became obsolete nearly overnight with the development of the longbow but that's a different issue.)

Happening in progress: RPGNet users realize their new techbro master is a serious wrongthinker, who likes tweets by people RPGNet would ban you for liking. Hilarity ensues.

This was the most likely outcome of the purchase, and it would take a heart of stone not to laugh as the story develops.

It is unlikely to bring down the site, since that will happen once the techbro tires of it. They may trigger it if they make enough trouble, but it is more likely the mods will clamp down on the problem until it goes away, at least for now.

The new owner has deviating opinions and everyone treats it like the goddamn July Crisis. Urgent messages, clarifications, promises and grumbling among the plebs. Bonus points for the Jewish tranny pagan kvetching about not having friends and that Joaquin "hid" his opinions from them. By posting them openly on social media. Troonshine truly rots the brain.

Even more bonus points for Miss Atomic Bomb needing a multiple hour break, probably to "process" the fact that Joaquin's opinons don't align with the leftist tranny cesspit he bought as an investment.

To use RPG parlance: my sides failed their Fortitude save and flew off into orbit. This truly is the sweetest schadenfreude i've had in a long time, and i hope their suffering is prolonged, vocal and ultimately archived.

You love to see it. I'm still hoping for the outcome where he dismembers the site and sells it for parts because the rage and salt from the power-tripping mods and dipshit powerusers will be beyond legendary.

I hope the backlash shows Joaquin the error of his ways in being "anti-censorship" yet content to let the moderators continue to be as censorious as ever. And also lmao at him trusting the mods to accurately summarize his responses beliefs.

This will not end well for anyone involved, yet very few of them are going to abandon ship.

Uh oh, someone didn't do their due diligence.

I hope they figure out a way to make this work, because the idea of each side being forced to work together to keep the site from imploding while hating each other's guts is hilarious. The tranny mob is out for blood because this vile tech bro dared to like wrongthink and I bet Joaquin is pissed because instead of buying one of the cornerstones of the online ttrpg community he got a ghost town populated by cultists too insane for even reddit. And the mods are stuck right in the middle because they signed off on this deal. :story:

I bet the mods will trot out the "unpaid volunteers" excuse again. "He's a big meanie tech bro! We don't have the spoons to deal with everything!"

I'd like to congratulate Joaquin on his purchase of a lolcow farm and stress that we, his few customers, appreciate him keeping it going rather than taking it out back and culling them.

Should he care to come to Kiwifarms to blow off steam I suggest the impenetrable username of "NottheownerofRPG.net"

If he actually showed up here and they found out, it would be the most epic meltdown of history as hordes of screaming, weeping genderspecials fell over each other to write their departure essays about how in danger they are now that fascism has its iron hand on their throats. I would have to buy days of popcorn to read through all of it.

It takes about one man to help someone get dressed in full plate most of his support personnel were also soldiers
I love to see people who say they could totally stand .
up to a knight guys stand across from a Car driving about 40 miles an hour at you and see if you don't flinch.

Also most heads of households were required to keep armor and weapons in their possession in case of calling them up for military duty.
The dark ages as a term is just made-up by enlightenment era philosophers to justify their own ideology.

A good book on the subject is life in a medieval village if you're interested

Pike formations have existed since Peach in Greece Calvary have always been aware of the tactics and how to break them.

are the good old the Longbow is the wonder waffen a Longbow can penetrate some armour but so can javelins crossbows heavy Bow
have existed since ancient Greece.
most full plate armor can deflect arrows even from heavy draw weight bows.

also the English the king of the Longbow men when they ran out of arrows would engage in melee combat with the enemy because you're not this puny guy when you use a bow with 150 LB draw weight.

Dis gunna be GUUUUUD.

He claims he is anti-censorship, yet is fine with letting the jannies enforce a censorious "community consensus"? I don't see how that adds up.
He just bought a community and doesn't want it to immediately die before he gets any return on investment. If he cans the mods immediately then the users will also flee.
