A rare bit of salt come from the other side. It certainly proves how much RPGNet hates GamerGate though. For context, this guy what just banned for 3 months, and this screed earned him 6 more.

"Le sigh"

"May your vitriol be ever bilious, your contempt unblunted by human sentiment"

How can a forum possibly have mods even more autistic than ours?

Conceit, these idiots think their 'stand' against goobergrape/gablegurp/some other unfunny attempt at word play and asinine attempts to turn the forum into a hug box actually means anything as opposed to most likely making things slightly worse and alienating people who arnt intersted in discussing politics or their personal issues in a hobby forum.

I think without ethics you can't believe anything in any kind of journalism. There has to be moral people reporting. Games or otherwise.

RPGNet continues to circlejerk about how Trump is Hitler.

How dare those evil politicians not act against their own self-interest to cater to me? Everyone should just do what I want, then we’d all be happy!

Have you ever tried treating people who don’t agree with you with something besides disdainful ridicule and sneering contempt? Or is that too “problematic”?

Bonus: the competition to who can have the youngest troon child continues unabated.

Mega thread on White wolf hiring an internet douche.
https://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?798635-Whitewolf-Hires-Zak-Sabbath-and-Denies-Harassment

It's becoming increasingly clear these people want to generate a Gamergate. They do realize from their perspective that gamergate was really really bad for women? I suppose they're working on the assumption they'll 'win' and everything will be great for women like it is in gaming now.

They don't really care about women. They just care about being right.

Hopefully Zak won't be as bad as Brucato, who was so bad there's a very transparent shot at him in Mage book. But it does seem WW hires crazies...

What's up with Brucato? I haven't heard.

Here's one of my favorites from that thread, a long e-mail from Stacy Dellorfano, the person who runs the all-female con ConTessa, comes to Zak's defense. Once again, pointing out the flaws in the mods' logic gets you banned.

Yep. That, right there, is blasted across the top of their site.

Here's a bonus: Zeea, one of the more SJW-aligned mods, tried to find evidence of Zak doing all of these awful transphobic things, and came up empty-handed. So, she went on Pundit's site and apologized. I guess she has a short memory, or wasn't Listening and Believing hard enough.

My guess is the it's the last paragraph that hits it: Zak is abrasive and opinionated, but not any of the SJW insults that get slandered on him.

@Wallace

Brucato's primary claim to fame is the book Changing Breeds. Initially, it was meant to be either what War Against the Pure ended up being or a revising and refining of it (I can't remember which came first)-the idea was to introduce and codify several non-werewolf shapechangers. Were-cats, were-elephants, etc. The makers of Werewolf, after looking at it, wanted fuck all to do with Changing Breeds, getting it branded with a generic "World of Darkness" sticker.

Why? The stats are incredibly unbalanced, allowing a fresh out of first change "Changing Breed" to completely topple Werewolves that have been going for decades. We're talking multiple Strength bonuses, armor up the ass, more health and size then should be reasonably possible. Many times, size and health formula are completely wrong. Add to this the fact that the powers can be stacked to an incredibly broken degree, and the penalties given to Changers by their "Feral Heart" (Power, think the primal urge from Werewolf) can be completely cancelled by spending a magic point and/or stacking various other powers, and you have a recipe for a power-gamer paradise.

For these reasons, Changing Breeds is forever banned at my WoD table.

The secondary reason is that the fluff (as opposed to the crunch which I just outlined) is fuckballs insane. The concept is that nature has been creating these guys to put a stop to man's total destruction of the land. Not a bad start, but the fluff tends to send the major characters into frenzies for such simple things as "someone lit a cigarette". The fluff is...abnormally obsessed with Changers shitting everywhere but a toilet, cannibalism, and racial stereotypes. The were-apes and were-spiders are all very racist potshots at African and Asian culture (the monkeys have a primarily Asian 'breed' among them, so I can't divide the two), and there's a lot of really awful portrayals of other cultures, a very odd thing when ever since the start, WoD has been very respectful of other cultures and portraying them as mostly grey.

Brucato has other Werewolf, Mage, Vampire, and Changling credits to his name, but Changing Breeds is when he had complete creative control. This was a very bad thing, if the last two paragraphs didn't clue you in. If your desire to know more is intensifying, please, enjoy this review of Changing Breeds as done by a guy named Kurieg: http://projects.inklesspen.com/fatal-and-friends/kurieg/changing-breeds/ It's worth a read.

EDIT: That review also contains the very transparent parody of Brucato in the form of Jules Brucatto, a former "Warlock" developer (obviously a reference to Mage). I assume that's from a mage book, can't determine it.

The everyone is welcome disclaimer is such a nice little thing to be greeted by. Makes me feel all fuzzy and welcomed and not like I'm about to unwittingly stagger in a trench war of barely contained grudges.

White Wolf is a magnet for insufferable pricks. Satyros Brucato, Justin Achilli, and the current head honcho Martin Ericsson are chief among said insufferable pricks.

Zak Smith may be a dick at times, but he's mild-mannered compared to some of WW's more prominent writers and developers.

RPGnet is a cesspit and I prefer theRPGsite. Pundit may have issues of his own, but he at least tolerates differing opinions.

Oh right, i forgot Brucato changed his name to Satyros. And yes, that was a legal name change.

I feel like i should look him up...see if he's worthy of a cow thread...
