They don't even like suggestions for saving money on minis.

Sigh.

Been lurking here for a while now, but I've been a member of RPG.net for many a year. I've seen more people sanctioned and and banned in recent weeks than I have in any other time in the forum's history, that I can remember. I've tried just keeping my head down and ignoring it, for the memories of the good times I used to have, but I just can't do it any longer.

I just saw someone banned with the ban explanation of, essentially, "I'm too busy to figure out what you did wrong right now, so I'm banning you until I figure out what you did wrong. And it might get worse, we'll see."

Well... If I'm going to close one door, I figured I might as well open another. So, uh. Hi?

Welcome aboard, we're glad to have you here.

As one tabletop RPG player to another, I can safely say that you made the right decision in leaving RPG.net, that place is an insane cesspit now.

Hi there! Welcome to our alt-right forum of Nazi Gamergaters who seek to make gaming like the 50s again when there weren't any gosh darn feeemales ruining our anime tiddys, reinstate slavery, and make all trannies and autistics kill themselves.
Jokes aside, we tend to be a fairly chill place (except for Articles and Happening, but’s thats because it’s a right wing outrage circle jerk). We have a thread on Tabletop RPGs in the gaming section, and there are several people on here running or intrested in running games.

RPG Pundit isn't perfect but he was absolutely right when he said Tangency should have been nuked years ago.

D6 or D20?

RPG.net's personal antichrist.

From what I can tell, he's an asshole, but, yeah, he's more or less got RPG.net's number.

And yeah, as best I can piece together, there's no way to openly support anything the current administration is or has done without running afoul of one of the latest batch of quasi-written rules. Tangency, at least, has officially become a hugbox in that regard.

D6 or D20?

There are no bad dice, at least not out of the core polyhedrons. All dice deserve love! Except those weird ones DCC invented, they can get right stuffed. That said, mostly D6s or D10s these days. Shadowrun, Warhammer Fantasy, World of Darkness Classic, etc.

Being against Trump doesn't conflict with thinking Booker was acting like a grandstanding baby. Those two thoughts can coexist in someone's head. In RPGNet that's banned.

Mods shouldn't be forcing people into ideological boxes. The ignore button and avoiding certain subforums works fine here.

RPGNet doesn't want to fix its problems.

If I was a gambling bearded goat, I'd bet that there's no politics subforum because it would be treated as a containment board by everyone else.

We aren't all bad in A&H Randall, you know that.

But yeah welcome aboard new guy, only thing you could do to upset me is say D&D 4.0 was good. If I wanted to play WoW, like I'd play WoW.

Well that or think Homelands was in anyway a good MtG set.

At least Homelands had Wall of Kelp. Always a fun card to combo off of in casual games.

But Fallen Empires has Hymn to Tourach and High Tide. Better card choice for Homelands woulda been Merchant Scroll. :P
I remember when that card was banned. (Hymn) Pissed me right off. Forgot when it was unbanned. I wish more sets would do the whole multiple art thing Fallen Empires had going for it.

I still remember how good Goblin Grenade was too. Same with Breeding Pit.

I'll poke that bear for him.

I didn't think D&D4E was bad per se, but it didn't feel like D&D. It felt like some game system that had the title bolted on to try and make money. The WoW/Muhmorperger comparisons are pretty accurate.

Yeah, I quite like 4E, but as a turn based strategy game system rather than a real RPG. It achieved vastly better class balance than any other D&D edition and is the only one that gave non-casters interesting toys to play with.

I agree it's like some third party took 3rd Edition and change the system a bit to make a whole new system for a campaign setting. Sort of like what Green Ronin did for Mutants and Masterminds. People to this day still swear that it's a great system and will play it over 5th Edition. There were a lot of people back in the day too that swore it was a better system to get into as a new player or DM. You know...Despite every class being the same and feeling too video game like.

I wonder...

Seeing the spate of imbecilic bans coming out of RPG.net, I wonder if you could crossreference between posters/mods at both RPG.net, and see if they're at ResetEra too?

I might be overthinking this -- after all, proggies don't have much variation -- but the similarities are striking.

Did somebody say imbecilic bans?

Why does RPGnet have a reputation of being up-tight no-funsters?

Here's the saga of someone appealing a short ban, which then got turned into a permaban for mod sass.

"I can't be bothered to find the rule that allows me to ban you, so I'm just banning you because I don't like you!"

It's even funnier with Law Orc being an actual lawyer, who should know better.
