For a group that prides itself on being a safe space from abuse, they sure do attract a lot of abusers.

Agemegos seems like he should be on a police watch list. "I wonder if it's a good idea to use these forums to co-ordinate political violence" As a practical issue is deeply worrying. Considering how hard the Farms comes down on co-ordinated attempts to fuck with the cows I think it's fair to say we're better people than RPG forums in praxis.

It's even more alarming in that this is the type of thing that the mods claimed they were trying to prevent, yes it's happening under their noses and they don't seem to notice--or care.

I mean... fuck. I miss some of my friends from RPG.net some days, but I am so glad I'm out of there. I would cop a permaban so quickly.

When Zeea got modded I knew it was the beginning of the end. He's never been held to any sort of reasonable standard, he's frequently the most radical moderator and the most prone to over-reacting, and frankly the most arrogant and pretentious one.

The only one worse than Zeea is Darren MacLennan (AKA Cannibal Smiley) who was the OG asshole mod.

Well, Black Hat Matt was the worst of the lot but that was because he was a sick degenerate rapist.

As a mod, he was on the same league as Zeea and Darren.

I wonder if we can also include Onyx Path Forums in this thread or not?

There's some lolcow-worthy stuff there too and it's also an SJW cesspit.

Tellingly, there is heavy overlap between users and mods on both forums. I had previously considered making a thread for Onyx Path Forums in the Proving Grounds, but I realize it would be redundant since it covers the same ground and has a lot of the same lolcow posters, the only thing really separating the two is that Onyx Path is the direct successor to the old White Wolf Forums and so it's mostly focused on World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness and Exalted and that there is also a higher concentration of Old WoD metaplot autists as a result.

I think McLennan did a grandstanding review of the legendary FATAL RPG game back in the day. At the time I thought it was kind of amusing. My guess is that if I read that review now I'd find it incredibly pompous.

>Zeea is a moderator
>on the internet
>on an elf game message board
>Zeea does it for free
>Zeea takes his "job" very seriously
>Zeea does it because it's the only amount of power & control he will ever have in his pathetic life
>Zeea bans users he doesn't like because whenever he gets upset he has a panic attack
>Zeea bans users he doesn't like because they interfere with the large backlog of body positive transgender lesbian elf porn he has to watch
>Zeea will never have a real job
>Zeea will never move out of his parents' house
>Zeea will never be at a healthy weight
>Zeea will never know how to cook anything besides a Hot Pocket
>Zeea will never have a girlfriend
>Zeea will never have any friends

Seirously, the more I think about it, the more I realize that the "He Does It For Free" copypasta applies to RPGnet mods far more closely than 4chan janitors.

The only people more pathetic than the mods and admins of RPGnet are the users on there who still haven't left the forum or arbitrarily banned from it.

In olden days I called it King Nerd Syndrome, the result of taking a socially-unprepared person and giving them authority over other people with no checks and no real guidance. It inevitably goes south when the person, unable to deal with humans with any kind of nuance and lacking the personality to convince people to act in a certain away through words alone, opts to abuse their power via deleting messages, deleting users, whatever the platform lets them do. There are of course actual crazy or stupid people for whom there is no recourse but to ban them, but a King Nerd will avoid going to the effort of swaying a disagreeing user to their side when they can simply hit a button and call it a day.

I think the reason that RPGNet comes of as pro-political violence is that they've systematically eliminated every other option. The other side can't be reasoned with, can't be negotiated with, can't be compromised with. Anyone who questions this gets a ban.

It's nice to see kitty voodoo didn't change a bit during her lengthy hiatus, and the mods are still giving her absurd loads of slack. But she does have a point. When you taken every other peaceful or civil option off of the table, what's left?

If it wasn't a forum full of limpwristed headcases playing children's games who among the lot of them haven't got the physical mien to conquer a 7/11 much less overthrow the government, I might be concerned.

What was the phrase Ann Coulter used about people like this? Teenage revolutionaries bragging in their parents' winecellar, I believe.

Ann might be a bit of a cow herself, but she wasn't wrong.

Pretty much. There is a reason why I compared RPGnet's mods to the "He Does It For Free" copypasta

Video very much related,,,

A GM at a gaming convention in England ran a game, billed as 18+, where the premise is that the characters wake up naked in the back of a van, handcuffed together, with burning asses, and are unceremoniously tossed out and told to run by men with guns. The GM's stated intent was that the knockout drugs had made the characters explosively shit themselves, which is why they were naked and had ass pain, and were going to be hunted for sport by rich assholes. A player interpreted the scenario as the characters all having been raped, complained to the convention, and got the GM banned despite years of having attended without incident.

I'm not gonna lie, setting up a scenario where characters have all shit their pants is pretty magical realmy in and of itself even without the rape, guy said he just found the mental image of four naked poo-covered guys having to scamper through town for safety an amusing one, which I can sorta get, but still. Anyways, RPGnet was quickly on the case, calling for him to be arrested and put on the sex offender list. For... imaginary character rape in a game with only adults present? Who even knows.

The GM then gave an interview to explain that he'd never intended for rape to be part of the scenario and that there was a fundamental misunderstanding involved. Someone on RPGnet posted a link to the GM's interview so people could see both sides and come to their own conc-

So they refused to link to an interview of person they are dunking on, just because they don't like the interviewer (For bullshit reasons, I might add). This reminds of that time, at the height of Gamergate, The Escapist interviewed a number of people working in the gaming industry to get their opinion on the subject, and James Desborough was one of the people they interviewed. Only to later take down his interview (along with someone else's), claiming that James had been accused of harassing people...only for no such allegations to actually surface and the claims to effectively amount to nothing. James didn't even find out they had removed his interview till after they had removed it, as they didn't contact him regarding the allegations beforehand. Word is, that fat fuck Jim Sterling had something to do with his interview being taken down.
