If you express a personal opinion about something that most people agree on and dare to express said opinion, you are clearly a troll and a piece of shit.

The dnd edition ban came from a thread which was actually about what improvements each edition had over the previous. Has users nervously reminding each other not to say anything bad about previous editions. You know, in case somebodies feelings get hurt.

Literally there is no charge they can lobby against Project Veritas that wouldn't also end up taking down every major news network.

Although I will note there's been commentary on how recently young reporters don't seem to put in any work or effort to... report things, they just talk about tweeting. So there is a slim out for them there that current day reporting's efforts to be lazy also end up covering for their "moral standards."

It comes from the belief that the Good People values are so obviously, uncontroversially correct and virtuous, that there is no good faith argument against them. Any criticism or disagreement is therefore trolling. It's similar to how someone who is pro-life would take any criticism against their stance on abortion as coming from someone who wants to kill babies.

They've gotten their wrists slapped on a number of issues (usually running afoul of some secret-recording law or going a bit overboard, like the time they tried to sneak into that one Congresscritter's office). But as far as I know, they've never had a legal defamation charge stick, nor have they been forced to retract a story.

Even if you follow the Babylon 5 maxim about truth being a three edged sword, at least that acknowledges an objective truth that exists. Philip K. Dick had a good one in that vein as well: reality is that which if you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

Yet when I go and search the site... it finds no record of this being mentioned anywhere.
