UN Russia will make the Hunger Games real.

The organiser of a Hunger Games-style reality show where 30 people will be dumped in the Siberian wilderness has boasted that rape and murder is allowed.
Contestants from different countries seeking a £1.3million prize will be issued with knives and will be expected to hunt and fish to eat.
It looks like too sadistic too be real. How will react the governments, the public and the sponsors when this reality begins?
Or just maybe it's just a hoax or a marketing stunt; it's not the first time that this happens. They might be trying to promote a new survival reality show too.
What do you think kiwis?

It's like when Jared Leto tried to promote Suicide Squad by bragging about how edgy he was when preparing for the role of the Joker and everyone was all like, "Yeah, he totally did that". It's all just promotional bullshit, but when the actual show comes, it'll be pretty watered down. At most we'll probably get some dirty as fuck fist fights, which in all honesty would still be pretty fun to watch.

If it's real, that's be interesting honestly, it might even show how us as a species really are when it comes to things we'd like to see.

For it to just be a stunt would make me angry they'd even conceptualize this concept. What would this be for anyways? (like, what are they trying to market?)

Despite the nonchalant approach to murder and rape, contestants are told the laws of the Russian federation apply, and that if there is proof of criminality 'the police will come and take you away'.

They should 'obey the laws of the Russian Federation,' the show says.

so basically, anything can happen, but nothing will because who the fuck wants to wind up in a Siberian prison

Are we talking Siberia in the winter? Because just staying alive would count as an impressive accomplishment.

Honestly it just sounds like Survivor:Russia, with more dramatic promos. Though probably less oversight or safety concerns than with the US version.

Siberia in summer as well - it's really hot due to continental climate (aka +35 C in summer, -35 C in winter), there's all those wild animals around, and nearest inhabited places are often far away.

Also, this reality game project was created by some businessman guy from Novosibirsk (Evgeny Pyatkovsky), who now tries to use the controversy to attract sponsors. Not a single Russian television channel is involved in this, apparently. Looks quite fishy, I'd say.
