With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

I'm actually glad that they got normal (lol) people for the show this time around rather than 80% of them being MDE fans.

I am not one for generation-bashing (especially since I am either a zoomer or a milliennal depending on who you ask) but the amount of young people I have met at work who can't tell analogue time is immense.

Here we have Cole doing the exact thing I do when I'm stuck on a puzzle on Silent Hill of just wandering around bumping into things hoping it would trigger something.
 
I would say TJ seems to be the biggest autist so far followed by Shinji.
Cole also has huge entertainment potential since he always seems out of place. It's as if someone dragged a random person from the street into an asylum. On the other hand he still volunteered for this...
 
As much as I and many others in this thread had doubts, I have to say the show is off to a great start. The cast so far seems to be very lively and talkative with a variety of personalities. The house itself is bigger and at least visually more interesting and they're running with a 70s aesthetic. A big thing to note about production/challenges is that it seems they're really keen on forcing interaction. Splitting the girls and guys into couples and forcing them to talk and try to learn about each other, then Sam coming in and asking them about it, learning about them, and gaslighting them was great for day 1. Besides the site not working half the time when actual stuff was happening I was pretty happy with night 1 even if I had to stay up til 3 am to watch it.

Only complaint so far is that Josie and Vance are on as crew, I don't want to see anything from them, Vance did a cringey bit with the fattest and ugliest girl and it had 0 subtlety compared to previous crew bits like Ben's stories. The girl immediately saw through it and just went "yeah, good job, you should work on that".

Cole's been my favorite so far, glad he knows to talk to the camera. There's a chance he could be a plant, but even if he is he's doing a better job at it than damiel.

yeah if I recall the first day of season 1 was pretty dull it took that first day for things to heat up, I think it is too soon to call this a wash.

The biggest thing that has me is how much of a bitch Jet has been as of late. Wish he'd humble himself and realize not every criticism is someone being a concern troll
 
I'm glad they've gone a different direction with the fish this time around. Sticking hyper-autists in a house is cool and all, but these guys seem a lot more functional. Josie is a crew member and she's way more out of her depth than the fish themselves. They should honestly just scrap those from last season cameoing in this one, it's a bit early to call but it is giving a very different vibe. Reminds me of actual Big Brother, exposing these more "normal" people to Sam's antics will be interesting.
