I can understand the frustration with greg but I think it has less to do with him as a contestant and more so it answers the question what would happen if we tossed an normie who doesn't know sam into a place where theres almost no rules? Also I'm annoyed people keep hyping Greg up for being amazing, but he really is not anything special, he wasn't around for all of the degrading and demoralizing stuff like Danye was
I hope next season they actually do put some stakes in this. CP was probably the only thing that had agency for a nanosecond because (I think it was the viewers who asked for it or it was just a last minute thought by crew) who wanted to use them for eliminations. although it was misused and never really existed it did add some tension (until Trish didn't want to slice off her hair understandibly)at this point none of the fish feel compelled to do challenges since there is no upside at all, no cash prizes and no long term benefits on their standing on the show.
You have to be completely humorless and miserable to not like Greg. His autistic naivety and lack of prior knowledge of the show is charming and extremely refreshing during a show where every fish was a season 1 fan. People like him because he's a dorky goofball. He also brings an energy to the house that was desperately needed. The rest of the fish are so tired they do nothing all day while Greg beat boxes and tries to keeps things going. Also I'm annoyed people keep hyping Greg up for being amazing, but he really is not anything special, he wasn't around for all of the degrading and demoralizing stuff like Danye was, he didn't have to go through weeks of just eating grits and peanut butter and literal fist fights or being subjected to Chris' literal insane demands to avoid elimination. He is mostly fresh and he doesn't have any expectations upon him to participate in degrading challenges. Even the most minor bit of hassling by Frank put him into tears, its easy to be entertaining when you're not being mentally crushed for weeks at a time, the D&D game was interesting but it felt like the fish were just going through the motions just to stave off boredom rather than real enjoyment, him being upbeat and happy is a good thing for the show at this stage but the fish are too burned out to really feed off this positive energy, everyone is just looking for the exit so they can wash their hands of this unfortunate experience. I think he was a good acquisition by Sam for the show but the past 5 weeks of crushing the spirits of the fish cannot be corrected at this point.
Right after I posted this they either kicked off TJ or are running with another "TJ is gone" fake out.I don't believe production will ever improve. They seem to get bored and make major decisions based on that. So the magic will have to come down to casting.
I think he is a good influence in the show and his upbeat nature is desperately needed, but he is a low tier Freeloader compared to Danye. His naivety regarding the show is partly why I am irritated with him, he spent a good part of yesterday in B2 just shit talking the fish for being jaded, rude and standoffish. This is a slightly disturbed Frat house to Greg. To Danye this was an insane asylum lasting weeks, the moment Danye arrived was the hotdog challenge and he was force vomiting alongside Tay and Brian, every day Danye put effort in to be entertaining. Greg has only opened up in the past few days and the fish are at the lowest point morale wise I've seen in both seasons. Its always hard for a Freeloader to enmesh themselves into an ongoing season, Oliver and Britney struggled hard, Greg has finally started hitting his stride but its too little too late for him to be a good freeloader, there is just 4 days remaining and most of that will be occupied with the finale. You have to be completely humorless and miserable to not like Greg. I think you're under-valuing motivation and the need for naive fish. This season's The Cell challenge fell apart half due to low motivation. The other half due to meta gaming. Having a house full of those that desire to be e celebs would fix this issue. The fish left this season all aspire to use the money in reasonable ways.I think he is a good influence in the show and his upbeat nature is desperately needed, but he is a low tier Freeloader compared to Danye. We agree on Danye. I was very impressed by him. It's actually insane just how resilient he was. To arrive on a show you aren't even eligible to win the grand prize of during that horrific hotdog puke day and not immediately walk off after seeing that is very strong. He also made it through the cell challenge without really complaining to my knowledge. He's probably the overall strongest freeloader the series has ever seen.To Danye this was an insane asylum lasting weeks, the moment Danye arrived was the hotdog challenge and he was force vomiting alongside Tay and Brian, every day Danye put effort in to be entertaining. Bruh,It's hard not to notice that the other members of production get markedly more lazy the second Daddy Sam is away. Judging by the fact that every time I see Josie she's doing something(holding the camera, making sure TJ doesn't Hendrix himself), I'll bet the other wiggers are making her do 95% of the work. I have this great mental image of her valiantly trying to keep the basement from flooding as the rest of the wiggers tell her "have fun with that" as they move the computers upstairs.
Lubecooch is weak in mind AND body. Irredeemable. Yet has a fan base still. I guess it really speaks to the quality of viewers the wiggers attract
Its the fun of having lackeys you don't have to pay too much. If people came in with personalities or competency he would have to pay them more or there may be a conflict of interest. This is all speculation but I think Gregs situation happens more often with people who work with him then we know.Sam. It's been a few years since your cancellation, I think you can pull better quality talent than drug addicted soundcloud rappers for your production, particularly since the job market for professionals is so abysmal now at the entry level.
The only notable thing Meg ever did was scare off Taylor from ever using discord.Megan and JC left so quick I literally can not name a single thing about Megan. I know JC was from Portland and she talked about how she hated weed or something like that. That's about all I remember of her. Megan I could not name a single thing she did. That's how fast people were jumping ship. Even the least memorable people of season 1 I could tell you some basic facts about. Mauro was from New Mexico, pretty gay talking, liked Halo etc. He was still on the show for long enough to have some memes about him made like the morgue
Imo the best thing Jc did was tell Tay she assumed she was trans.Megan and JC left so quick I literally can not name a single thing about Megan. That's the thing. The market has gotten so bad that he probably doesn't have to pay much more than he's paying the wiggers now for people just entering the media job market. Moreover people don't give a shit about his previous controversies anymore. He's just an eccentric cheap boss with a bad temper who still is a professional when it counts and has some soft spots for people he feels have done a good job. Working with Sam is more like working with a head chef at a popular independent restaurant than a mainstream media company. You won't get rich doing it, but with the right outlook you'll learn so much more about all the nuts and bolts of the business if you got a grindset mentality. If I had the basic skillset he's looking for and a desire to work in the industry, I would apply to work for him in heartbeat. Its the fun of having lackeys you don't have to pay too much. Production needs a major attitude adjustment. Their mindset for the past week has been "Fuck the fish" rather than "Let's help them put on a show". A mixture of disgust, resentment, hatred, and exhaustion is making the basement completely check out of their show right before the end. For all the talk from production about Fishtank being just a gameshow they take a lot of what the fish do and say very personally, then they get butthurt or burnt and stop having fun with their job so they just half-ass everythingI don't believe production will ever improve. They seem to get bored and make major decisions based on that. So the magic will have to come down to casting.
Vance's "Go along to get along" attitude is again biting him in the ass. The more senior wiggers are checked out and don't give a shit about the audience or the fish anymore, and he's just following their lead. Josie's autism is working in her favor, she can't read that vibe and is sticking with the explicit plan that as newest hire, it's her place to do literal scutwork until told otherwise by the boss. Hence her wet-vaccing shitwater and melt-off in the basement while the others go upstairs to jack off and goldbrick.Vance should have stayed his ass in the basement with her yesterday, not a good look bud!
