Sam seems to think that there was a media-driven lynch mob out to shut down MDE's show due to his politically incorrect humor and alleged ties to the "alt-right" through Twitter and Reddit shitposting. In particular, it seems the outrage against the show is partly the culmination of a grudge by a Buzzfeed writer, Joe Bernstein, who Sam relentlessly mocked and belittled in a livestreamed interview. When Sam wouldn't take down the recorded stream, the Buzzfeed guy really stepped up his attacks, alleging that MDE was trying to sneak hidden swastikas into the show, and after that a lot of people joined the anti-MDE bandwagon. But Sam seems pretty serious in denying the swastika accusation, saying it would be stupid to do such a thing since it wouldn't make it past the show's Jewish pre-screener.

I don't know too much else about the situation, though I think it might be fair to say that from his previous performances, vlogs, and social media postings, Sam has some sympathies for the anti-migrant, pro-Trump wing of the political spectrum, which is obviously a dangerous political affiliation to be publicly associated with if he wanted to keep his show on air at such a major network.

Does anyone else think the Democrat's stance towards anyone they consider to be "alt right' is drifting into McCarthyism territory?
Yes. At some point there's going to be a "Salem witch trial" event where a ton of "Russians" will be given a bunch of shit, then they find out they weren't spies, and it just discredits the press further and becomes and even bigger joke. Mass paranoia never, ever in the history of the world never ends well, and the instigators are never lauded as heroes afterward.

They don't know the monster they have awakened. Officer Sam "One man klan" Hyde will not stand for this.

Yup.

It's been like this for a while though, if you have any republican leaning ideas you're a toxic individual who needs to gtfo.

The best thing to come out of MDE World Peace's cancellation has been the telephone game by online journalists as to what the show was since none of them could take the time to watch even one episode of a show that has 11 minute long episodes.

TheYoungTurks showing College Cunts instead of a clip from the show because TheHuffingtonPost posted it thinking it was in the show when it wasn't was just the dumbest and funniest thing ever.

I listened and read some more of Sam's explanation of who is to blame for the cancellation, and it seems one of the bigger influencers was Tim Heidecker, who asked his fans to contact Adult Swim advertisers and Turner Broadcasting (the parent company of AS) requesting the show's cancellation. Tim loudly denied championing the cancellation when Sam confronted him about it on Tim's call-in show, but apparently Tim hasn't even bothered taking down the previous episodes of his call-in show where he asked listeners to contact the advertisers and Turner to pull MDE's show.

I guess they were giving Sam a hard time over one or two skits where he was in blackface, too. Maybe that is arguably too edgy for conventional broadcast media.

Wow who would have thought that if you hire a guy known for doing edgy shock humor about offensive stuff that he'd do edgy shock humor about offensive stuff.

Sam's stuff is usually so over the top that it can only offend genuine retards, because it's so obviously a joke if you have half a brain. That'd what made paradigm shift 2070 so good, along with a lot of his other live stuff. It exposes people's natural instincts to trust "authority" and to go with the flow no matter how nuts it is, because everyone just wants to think that no one would give an insane charlatan a microphone and a tedx talk.

The tinfoil side of me just assumed that getting canceled was another MDE putton.

Not extremely relevant to this situation but Tim Heidecker has been sperging nonstop on twitter ever since Trump was elected. Half of his tweets are him loathing Trump/his supporters.
I never would've thought that Tim, a man who practically sparked the brand of comedy Sam Hyde dabbles in, couldn't grasp the obvious satire going on in Hyde's show.
And tbh I enjoy Tim and Eric comedy and I honestly thought this whole time the both of them stayed out of political garbage. I was wrong apparently lol

I knew the show was in trouble when somebody who was apparently important to the network left over it. However:

Sam addressed that in another video. According to him, the guy (called Bret Gelworth) didn't actually leave the network over Sam's show, he just used that as an excuse to score liberal Hollywood cred while drawing attention away from what really happened. Gelworth didn't have any active collaboration with Adult Swim at the time; rather, he was trying and failing to sell his and his wife's proposed pilots to Adult Swim, who rejected them on the basis of being unfunny and racist. So he played off the network's rejection by publicly claiming it was morally unconscionable for him to work with a network that was airing a misogynistic, alt-right show (ie MDE's World Peace)
