This poor bastard needs to change what he fucking does for a living, mf sits daily in front a screen playing SpongeBob while looking like the saddest most miserable human on the planet, and he has been doing this for 8 years? What's the end goal here exactly? is he masochistic?

Wouldn't be surprised to see this dude in the community happenings with half of his face blown off by a 12 gauge at any point in time. Bro needs help.

The Wii is the slowest way to play the game because it has 10 minute longer load times. It's not even elitism about hardware, they already jumped that bridge when they switched from disks to HDD, it's literally just the only way to play the game competitively.

Yet another reason as for why BFBB is the most dreadful speedgame.

I'm loosely aware of the differences between the consoles from hanging around the community up until 2020. If I'm remembering correctly running the original xbox game on the Xbox 360 is the "second best" way to run the game despite the visual glitches with the skybox and other weird stuff. But I forget if back then they'd subtract a specific amount of time to account for the load time differences in whatever the route is like some other game leader boards do or not.
Wordy rant aside it's just very strange to me that so many alterations to the hardware can be made while still calling it "original hardware" yet using a newer, much more comfortable and reliable piece of hardware like a modern controller with an adapter, is deemed unacceptable.
When they started looking at discrepancies in the disk drives they found that the drive OEM'd by Pioneer was faster than the drive made by Samsung, so they started swapping disk drives. Still original hardware but in a different configuration so sure. Then dropping it all together and allowing hard drive loading. Not even to mention before this when they started smudging or scuffing up their disks to make the game lag so they could do out of bounds clips. Yet another reason why it's so dreadful too. So does that count as hardware modification? Then what about a SATA to IDE bridge board for the hard drives that have failed after 20+ years? That isn't an original part but is a crucial addition to keep the machine functional. Then you get into soft modding the operating system and custom launchers and software which is still considered fine if it's running on the console. But how far could it be taken? There's a whole group of hardcore console modders that do insanely difficult and technical shit like adding HDMI video output that grabs the signal directly from the GPU and audio processor, de-soldering the original CPU and soldering on a 3ghz desktop Pentium 4 onto the Xbox board, or soldering on more ram, or even stacking DRAM chips on top of one another to double the RAM. Would a console modified to that extent still be considered "original" sooner than a controller adapter that anybody can buy and simply plug in?

Well there's truly only one way to find out and that's to do it yourself.

Slightly off topic, you would be surprised how many top speedgames are like this, with rules so arbitrary (or just not defined in the slightest). Guy2038, a top Super Mario Sunshine speedrunner, was accused of using a modified Wii that had faster load times, however it turned out to be a very similar disk drive issue to the one BFBB had. (L)
The person who disproved the modified Wii allegation also had this to say about the SMS community: "the community is in general a very disturbed, dysfunctional and unproductive place, with resources for example stagnating owing to years of uncontrolled hate and conflicts and seemingly no ability to resolve them" (L)

Technically Gamecube + Wii Emulator. BFBB is only on disc for Gamecube, PlayStation 2, and the Xbox original.

It's actually allowed, SHiFT is just one of those retard purists that uses all original hardware (ignore the softmodded Xbox kek)

He could be rocking some modern controller with proper buttons and a hall effect stick (much more precise and lives far longer) but I guess he would lose his excuse of blaming the controllers.

There's something beautiful about that trick to get a lot of stars or whatever the fuck that causes this awful noise while he is trying and failing to do a trick in the carnival level, it adds to the madness, is something that you would see in a Kubrick movie when the character is going insane and about to murder someone.

He's playing on a PS2, clearly the Xbox console was the thing sucking the life out of him!

He's saying there's a new glitch on PS2 to duplicate spatulas, he's probably not miserable because doing something different and unique compared to his usual 10 hour streams

Is there an explanation for how the trick works? Can't check his stream currently. It'd be interesting to see if this is faster or not.

E: nvm, there's an explanation video which is very short but explains how to do the trick. Insane that it even works.
