Well, height is a highly volatile and unpredictable condition. I, for example, am 4" taller than my dad, and one of my uncles is around 9" taller than his dad. On my mother's side, the shortest (female) sibling is 5" shorter than the tallest (female) sibling. So I don't think it is that easy to predict or judge a priori

The real question here is how do we ensure that short girls (hot) are protected while short guys (subhuman) go extinct, it seems you can't have one without the other, I think genetic engineering with CRISPR/cas9 will eventually solve this problem, but we'll need a temporary solution in the meantime.

Unfortunately, and I say this as a tall person (6'2")... short people are simply more efficient. You could almost pack twice as many people into the same mass as long as you do not prioritize height. While I watch shorties pull-up or push-up with so much more mechanical advantage, I am feeling massive joint pains trying to keep up pace. It is simply an anachronism to try and dino-size people when we have learned the benefits gained from focusing on economy.

Only if it goes along with other things. No reason a 130+ IQ person who could cure cancer (or shortness) should be restricted from reproducing just because he's 5'5". If however, your family has a tendency to produce a lot of downies, criminals, people who need corrective lenses, etc., then they need to be excluded from the gene pool.

It's not going to happen judging by human behaviour. Across cultures women prefer tall men, but men also prefer women shorter than them.

You can't breed out lack of height when men across societies consistently make the choice to keep it in.

The struggle of the manlet is known, but the amazon too faces similar issues against tall men who prefer a smaller model.

Short girls are the reason short guys exist. The genes for height come from both parents, so protecting the short girls will still ensure short guys exist.
