Pride, as we all know, is one of the 7 cardinal sins, and people celebrating it for the entire month makes my skin crawl. I believe something should be done about it, whether a heavy push during June for the opposite value, which is positive, like modesty, humility or just quiet recognition, or a direct attack, by using shame as a weapon. Either of these two would make the world better than it currently is.

Twisting the meaning of pride to their own needs has to stop.

Nah, Pride Month needs to be fought with pitchforks and torches, not shaming or modesty... Maybe throw a little tar & feathers into the mix as well (although I'm sure a bunch of 'em have a kink about that!)...

Shame AND force has their places respectively. Shame is a good bulwark against contagion vectors, but the worst infectors WILL NOT be deterred by shame. they can only be dealt with by stricter means

Also regarding pride as a sin, and this applies to all 7 deadly sins, its about levels, usage, and where its applied.

Lust, greed, wrath, pride, sloth, gluttony, even envy, all have a place in humans with moderation, lust makes the next generation, greed creates drive to succeed, wrath creates the drive to fight for whats right, sloth allows needed rest, gluttony is one necessary to keep ourselves fed and well, pride keeps us out of existential dread and keeps our ego intact, and envy makes us aware when others are different and we must improve.

But they are also like FIRE. Fire isn't INNATELY bad, we all like candles, stoves, metal items forged in fire, a nice fire place in the winter, but too much, or out of place fire kills and destroys. Those 7 sins are the same.
