Should the term "woke" die? - Dead memes make no lulz

From what I understand the term "woke" was a creation of the fervent SJW's in the 2010's to describe their self described levels of higher understanding of the world and it's injustice through their ideology. It might also be a cryptic reference to the Marxist idea of Critical Consciousness but don't quote me on that.

The Skeptics, New Atheist movement, Anti-SJW's and anarchic internet trolls then adopted the term as a way to point and laugh at the ideology. Essentially using the enemy's language against them. Whenever something dumb happened like schizos demanding more lgbtschizo representation in tv and movies or someone getting fired from their job for making an AIDS joke, it got labelled as woke, that way if someone unironically labelled themselves as woke, the normies could then have an easier time making the association that the rest of us can see as a matter of course. That these people are all fucking lunatics.

As time has gone on the term now seems to have an almost exclusively negative or derogatory association with progressive politics. So much so that, as some of you might have noticed, the woke-scolds have seemingly stopped using it themselves. Now the people who use it the most are the occasional normie and anti-woke grifters and click bait merchants.

I feel like if we want to keep fighting the good fight against these disgusting, degenerate, godless, smelly weirdos then it is time to abandon the term. Otherwise they could easily turn it around and gaslight the normies. Making them believe anyone who derisively calls something woke is a NAHT-ZEE and everything they say should be disregarded.

Let dead memes die, lest we become a bunch of fucking out of touch facebook boomers, who still post comments asking about Brad's Wife cause they still think that meme is relevant in 2021

As a general term for describing the basic concept of "using ostensibly radical-progressive sounding rhetoric and buzzwords in an obnoxious and punitive yet superficial and insincere way as a pretext and an excuse for scumbag and self serving behaviour" it does feel like its coming to the end of its usability, though Im not sure what is going to replace it.

The term "woke" came from black people, it dates back to the 1940s or so. For a long time it basically just meant being actively aware of racial injustices instead of accepting that's how things were. Then it sorta became a joke status about hoteps or other weirdos in the Black community who claimed to be more "woke" than the average by believing in complete nonsense. Somebody starts talking to you about the Pyramids and Masons or some shit and you say "oh, I see you're woke" rather than engage with the person.

White people stole it about when you say, I'd say Twitter and the like was a big part of it because any white person could go and read Black Twitter or whatever and steal shit from it to act like they're urbanely "cultured" without having to actually interact with black people.

The first time I actually personally remember running in to it online was when Pussy Riot got arrested in Russia, Erykah Badu used it as part of a hashtag for that and then all kinds of white people were repeating it and then not long after they were using it constantly. The LGBT (mostly the latter imo) really leaned into it in their desperate struggle to LARP as an oppressed class and steal whatever positive they can from black culture without experiencing the reasons.

The idea behind it is not new or unique to black people of course. Especially in academia, where yes, it has closer connotations to left and Marxist ideas that permeate there. Similarly, both "cancel culture" and "political correctness" started on the Left as ways of self-policing the in-group.

preferably use whatever hip new buzz term the wokists use. Might be difficult if they stick to "progressive" or "leftist", or if they don't give it a name but kind of decentralize the ideology by only referring to specific sets of policies on their own like lgbt rights, "anti-racism", globalist economic policies ect and never refer to them all being under one roof

whatever they decide to call it next. remember the whole point of appropriating the term woke was to turn the normies against it.
If anything, "normies" needs to be discarded. Seems to have a twofold negative effect; makes freaks sound normal, and implies the user and those against said freaks are abnormal.

Plus, it just sounds cringe on top of that.

An example of "Woke" would be 2002's remake of the time machine. It's a curious thing how nobody back then gave a fuck about that sort of thing. Right wingers are too easily offended these days and call everything "woke". It's retarded.

The other woke, and "the pronoun people" are annoying but you rarely encounter them on real lifem I'm encountering too many of these retarded right wingers who scream WOKE at the stupidest shit imaginable. Calling a speed bump a "woke idea" because idiots are speeding through residential neighborhoods nearly killing kids is what I'm hearing these days. Just talked to an idiot who said that yesterday.

I do agree that the term "Woke" is a meaningless shopworn term no thanks to prolonged use from right-wing commentators describing just about anything they don't like. Indeed, the right has treated the word like they did SJW, political correctness, Cultural Marxism in previous generations. "Woke" may have referred to that wave of extremely online liberal and leftist activists interested in Black, LGBTQ+ and other assorted causes that intersect with their movements, but now, the right invokes the word as a thought-terminating exercise. That GOP apparatchiks and Conservatism Inc. have glommed onto anti-woke as a marketing gimmick tells you everything. It reflects on many a right-winger's inability to think critically and systemically. Instead of calling things "Woke", they should accuse the supposed "Woke" of being anti-White, anti-male or heterophobic. That way, the liberals and leftists would have to justify their causes which will lead to the disenfranchisement of non-believers, and when their only counter is exercising raw power, the non-liberals would become aware of their enemies' intended tyranny.

Normal people were the ones that supported the COVID lockdowns, consoomer culture, and Web 2.0 becoming the digital panopticon. Normies are worse than SJWs because SJWs derive power from Normies.

As long as you also call it a pain in my ass, the name doesn't matter. SJWs are obsessed with branding or dare I saw optics. Truthfully, these spergs to will attack any name that does the most damage. That's why they took the word faggot away. Faggot works really well.

I miss when "woke/broke" shit was just a setup to a retarded but funny joke rather than gay ass culture war bullshit.
That was 5 or 6 years ago.

Normalfags ruin everything and should be mocked relentlessly not because they are functional human beings (insofar as they aren't overt freaks), but because of shit like this:

Normal people were the ones that supported the COVID lockdowns, consoomer culture, and Web 2.0 becoming the digital panopticon. Normies are worse than SJWs because SJWs derive power from Normies.
They literally go with the flow so hard they actively act against not only their own interests, but the interests of society as a whole. The term hoi polloi is an accurate description of them: people that just do shit because it is popular, regardless if it is good or bad.

Seems to me it's just replaced "gay" as the go-to insult of modern times. I dunno, I find the overuse of any one term exhausting and "woke" is definitely starting to show its age and frequently seem meaningless.
