In times gone by people would pay good money to walk into a big carnival tent and stare at "freaks".

And now we have KiwiFarms so we don't need carnival tents anymore. :)

Anyway, what was the point of this question, @MysteryMan? They both ugly in my opinion. A different hairstyle and a better razor would probably help the guy on the left, though.
 
For hundreds of years people have been FASCINATED by ugliness, especially in the Victorian era.
Actually if you know anything about Europe in the 17th century, the baroque period, the whole general artistic movement at the time was appreciation for things that were traditionally considered ugly. More natural things were considered beautiful because perfection was less valued. In fact modern opera has its roots in baroque opera, specifically in the story telling aspects.
