There have been talks before about starting a thread about this website. Cat brought it up a few times for example but I only just remembered the site today when I capped some comments that someone said about the website and how I posted it to their respective lolcow thread. It made me remember and I was told that Sargon of Akkad sometimes answers Q&As there.

While they have done work in the past with covering all that Free Thought Blogs history, some of the shit that's on the site right now is just cringeworthy and embarrassing by any standard. Take this thread for example.

They are literally just fearmongering about the essjay dubyas without much else to back up their claims. It's like they're talking about a boogieman that only exists in their imaginations.

They have a whole thread about debating Islam. I haven't bothered to look at it closely but I'm sure there might be some content there worth talking about.

LOL, I'm not surprised this happened.

The awful layout goes back to "the endless thread" on Abby Smiths ERV science blog.

After the SJWs had banned or hounded out most of these guys from posting on their blogs, Abby Smith left a comment thread open on her blog so that they could carry on with their "chan style humour". The only thread that's regularly updated is the periodic table of swearing which is a direct continuation of this single thread.

There is a significant MRM membership, but the founding members tend not to be so extreme and got into a pretty dirty fight with Paul Elam.

Anyhow, one of the members was at the center of "selfiestickgate".
Those totes sceptic feminists Greta Christina and Amy Roth of FTB/Skepchicks were at an Atheist conference a few years ago and saw a manz walking around with a camera on a stick, so leaping to the totes reasonable assumption that any manz with a camera on a stick would be using it to upskirt photograph their totes lovely lady bits they tried to get him thrown out, and when they were unsuccessful wrote blogs posts on how conference organizers where encouraging the menz to perv on woomyn.

This was about 2 months before the term "selfie Stick" became ubiquitous.

Cant remember the name of the slymepitter/blogger but he has "grey" in the name of his blog.

I've never joined because navigating the site is a 'mare, but being ex FTB myself I have a certain sympathy with them.

Expect them to tell you to fuck off in the first few posts , that's their friendly greeting.

Rayshul is a puerto rican middle-aged woman who wrote sci-fi when she was younger, from what I gather. If you think there aren't dangerhairs tards in there calling everything "sexist", "racist", "problematic" and adhering to progressive stack ideology you just aren't familiar with the medium. They got there in the 60's/70's, at the same time they were immiscing themselves into many branches of academia, right before metastisizing into the familiar cancer of today, ultimately the root of all these feelers searching out for other institutions to infect.
It's not exactly paranoia, the whole Sad Puppies episode was just a small symptom of this. Wrongthinkers being shut out by ideologues who feel completely justified in their "no-platforming", convinced in the rightness of their cause. Can't have them promote no-no thoughts, only our kind of pre-aproved morality passes muster. And the typical hypocrisy is present, of course. The fat gouty fuck GRRM, who writes literal rape/murder porn, who endlessly felates the greats of the past like Jack Vance (who would be considered a top tier shitlord today by his own metrics), actually took it upon himself to weigh in on their side.

I know this is quite a necro-i was searching for slymepit to see if there was a robust thread, but I got to correct the selfie stick gate thing. The guy in question went by Dr. Buzz0, and people at some skeptic convention had inadvertently caught him taking upskirt pictures. There were pics by other people at the con that just happened to capture him with the stick down next to his shoe while he leaned towards skirt wearing women. And every female that interacted with him was creeped out because he came onto them with the subtlety of an autist. Con organizers didn't do anything, hotel security took his camera away.

The impression I got of that event was that a few select women of the mean girls club were going full moral panic on men at cons and nailed this hapless nerdy guy just because they were skeeved out that he had a selfie stick. I had never heard that they had any evidence much less photographic evidence of him doing this.

Can you post that picture of him taking up skirt photos here?
