I have always been a big fan of smaller YouTube content creators and center much of my watch time around channels that never truly get the recognition they deserve within the wider YouTube demographic. To share some people I think are worth watching, as well as gain new suggestions, I thought I would create a thread dedicated to the overlooked of YouTube or other sites should you prefer. This thread should mainly be used for video creators, but if you want, you can bring up artists or musicians or anything of the like. The size of people will not be measured here, I guess just try to pick people who are not at the level of a Shane Dawson, or someone who makes YouTube news consistently. Keeping it in the relative thousands or lower is probably the best.

As for structure, I please ask that if you do recommend, you at least have four elements.
1. Name of creator
2. Video or piece by them
3. Description of their work.
4. Link to channel

I will go first;
Jim and Them

Before coming to the Farms, my main sources of lolcows and craziness came from YouTube, and one particular channel gained my interest earlier on. Jim and Them is a very obscure podcast I came across due to Dan Shneider. They go over conspiracy theory crazies and pop culture stuff. Most of their videoes last over an hour. If you want their best work, definitely watch the Juggalo and woke show portions as the material they are working off of is hilarious already. They have probably found the next lolcows, but since they get very minimal views, nobody knows.

Here is a video sample. I will warn that it is long, but it is about a crazy black man building pyramids in the woods because they have powers.

Here is there channel:

I think this thread can be a good way to display underrated content and find it. There does not seem to be threads dedicated to small creators, so hopefully people in the Farms can take this as a way to boost and view content only a small chunk have seen.

All the small, underrated internet people I follow went off and became big while I wasn't looking.

Dankmus.

Dankmus turns The Simpsons into glorious music of all kinds, from upbeat synth to harsh metal, bringing obscure quotations to life and meme-dom. He's not as active in doing these half-parody half-masterpieces these days but his catalogue is astonishing and hilarious for a single producer. You can find his channel here.

Also, big shout-out to NPR Tiny Desk for being a low-key cutting-edge musical radar with plenty of big music names but also an equally big number of unknown or underappreciated acts. Their abundance of indie and 'diversity' acts can be a little off-putting though.

Jez Heck. Three dudes making music through various projects, all with a low quality, high soul sort of recording aesthetic, and cheesy 80s movie clips for music videos. good tunes. I found them on 4chan, one of them posts to /mu/ and /wsg/ often, usually in /mymys/ (music you made yourself) threads.
