What happens if you have anthropomorphic dogs/cats living in floating islands in the sky with mechs and a adventure feel from Grandia? You have this charming game. Back in 1998, CyberConnect2(behind the Naruto games and .Hack) made a PS1 game called Tail Concerto, a game that didn't do well sales wise. Despite that CyberConnect2 wanted to make a game similar to it, but they were rejected for a whole decade until finally getting that okay to make something.
I will try my best not to reveal too much, but despite the game's weakest aspect being the combat and the difficulty. There's a lot of positive aspects to it that balances out the negative. The art style is gorgeous, the world itself is brilliant and it really shows that the people behind it put a lot of heart to it. The story while having cliches works really well. I loved the lighthearted feel of the game, you don't see games like that these days.
I'm going to stop here and let these images and song speak for itself.
The game's opening song.
