Sorry, I've got to be an autistic faggot over this and split hairs.
Genes can be expressed among siblings in a way that makes the gene successfully pass on, by making one sibling take care of another, even if only one of the siblings reproduce. Likewise, you can be homosexual as fuck and still knock up a woman and raise kids, and this is known throughout history.
The issue is that faggotry is socially and culturally degenerate. Carrying on homosexual relationships doesn't necessitate one not have a family or be a responsible member of society. Faggotry, that is, hedonism, is the problem-in-itself. In the west, homosexuality got wrapped up in hedonistic bullshit, became an identity that was above reproach while getting hedonistic and shitty, and here we are.
There's probably plenty of truth to the old notion that "everyone's a little bi." There's also likely even more truth to the old wisdom of family being important and societal cohesion being paramount. Why not focus on "have families and give a shit about the society that made you and keep it keeping on" and try to limit hedonism? Why not promote healthy relationships? By going after "faggotry bad" (it is, not disagreeing) you're just making them dig their heels in and huff their poppers in petulant defiance.
Then again, who doesn't know that troons come from broken families and are alienated from society?

The notion of exclusively fucking the same sex, making a big deal about it, being a hedonistic faggot, and demanding attention is pretty western and pretty modern, AFAIK. While hedonists and libertines came and went from all walks of life, they generally only became remarkable and remembered if it was a rich person or someone fucking nobility, given the nature of life in older times requiring most people to work and not just be a parasite. They certainly weren't seemed worthy of praise or admiration for being hedonists on the dole.
For someone who is just naturally attracted to the same sex, there's absolutely nothing messaged to them except "fuck same sex, demand attention, claim victim status while enjoying privileges." They're not really encouraged to help society, they're told to help ~ the LGBT community ~ and see "the straights" as an other they're the enemies of. The ghastly notion of having an opposite sex partner for kids is seen as an awful suggestion, all the while they message ideations of turning straights bi or gay.
For people who have no direction, are lonely, or just attention starved, mostly nascent troons, they see how some kid who gets feels for the same sex is showered in attention and gets to have their life revolve around fucking and want in on it, and here we are. That's the root of the problem. The Troon Identity™ is jumping through hoops to be special. The Gay Identity™ is being a hedonistic faggot. The Lesbian Identity™ is bitching about men and keeping UHAUL in business.
Imagine if we took 15 or so steps back and instead said "you're just another person, get over yourself, consider family; you, too, are obligated to society; no one cares" and people weren't pressured to politicize and perform every fucking thing they do.
