It's part of MS making a bunch of promises if the regulators let the deal go through. Sony's throwing a hissy fit that MS will have the only FPS that is supposedly allowed to exist all to themselves, but that argument goes out the window if they already wrote and signed a 'if this happens, then....' contract with Nintendo.

It won't potentially go through until June at the earliest. This is to relax regulators (and probably fans as well) concerns over if they get Acti-Blitz, they'll make it Xbox and pc exclusive.

They first offered a 3 year deal to Sony on top of the existing deal Sony has on CoD, Sony/Jim Ryan declined, saying it wasn't adequate enough. Microsoft then offered a 10-year deal that would promise complete parity between systems, Sony has never commented on that. Microsoft then offered the same deal to Nintendo and Valve, Nintendo immediately accepted, Valve I think declined as they already have that, but Gabe commented that it was a good gesture.

So these are pretty much just gestures that aren't legally binding until they do get Acti-Blitz. If they do, they'd have to agree or else potentially be sued by the FTC again, and would probably be part of the concessions anyway for the deal to go through.

ray tracing sold as a graphical enhancement is the ultimate red herring. Devs want it because its simpler to implement, its offers little to consumers except tanking performance.

Meanwhile, PC and Xbox chads look upon their giant game libraries and smile, knowing they have hundreds of games across decades to choose from. The Xbox chad picks out his childhood copy of Morrowind, places the disc in his Xbox Series X and enjoys it running better than ever, while the PC chad installs it with all of his favorite mods. They get together outside and sip tea while discussing their exciting adventures in Vvardenfell, while the gaumless PlayStation guy cries in his cuckshed, doing all he can to convince himself that the toy headset he bought to play Rick & Morty: Virtual Rickality wasn’t a total waste of time and money.

For real though, any time I see console warriors in places like YouTube comments, it’s always a PlayStation guy throwing stones. There are always retards who will defend whatever they have, but the PlayStation guys are easily the most militant. Everything about PlayStation just reeks of insecurity now.

Literally the only game I've played that RTX didn't tank the framerate for was Doom Eternal.

Doesn't matter that gamepass gives you everything in a single monthly payment, doesn't matter you can emulate it on PC, doesn't matter that you can pirate, its a status symbol to own the brand that is seen as cool by others and has some market dominance.

If you could remove the social acceptance asspats of social media and dopamine hit of buying the popular thing people would likely not buy a ps5 because not enough games have shipped exclusively for it to warrant it being a sound financial decision.

I can't wait for Street Fighter 6. I did get burned by buying SF5 at launch like a scrub, but I did enjoy it after everything it went through.

That Suicide Squad game was on the furthest edge of my radar up until that leak last month where they showed a few screenshots of the main menu, revealing battle pass, various premium currencies, RPG mechanics and live-service features. The fact that Gotham Knights learned a little from Marvel's Avengers fiasco and backtracked on most live-service features, whereas Suicide Squad is just speeding towards the discount bin at GameStop is actually amazing.
